They do a lot of stuff there. Way more then most, that is no doubt. The marine stuff and all the stealth boxes are made in house.

So back on topic...we have the Dc lvl 312...the ssa gcon12..and maybe the HDC3 12 or a custom sub....hows the audioque for daily listening..isnt it more spl? Not saying it wont play clean, just havent heard anyone refer to it as anything but a spl beast.

That W6 is a **** sub. That line is the only JL sub I would ever consider running. But I would use it for what its meant to be used for

its all good I learned something...i knew **** about JL...have had a few of thier lower quality subs YEARS ago...but they didnt impress me so I didnt keep them longer than a couple weeks.

I would dump the AQ if you want SQ or a sealed box

I remember back when the OG w3's came out, they did a demo car with 5 15w3's and 5 amps...do not remember which amps but they broke a 170(on an ac meter)...

For the life of me, I can't find that artical.

Now I just went from having a loud set up to having an SQ based install now using all old school gear.

Ok with that said....hate to mix it up...let's say one 12in sub in a ported box of around 1.5cubes ..somethin that can handle 1ohm and 1k watts daily without tearing apart in a few months....can get LOW and loud...but clean. We still talking gcon...dc lvl 3...or a custom sub from a known builder. The one that keeps coming up is SPL......so now any of those up against one 12in L7....discuss...

The new w6v3 is a nice sub. Larger motor and more linear x-max and a rubber surround...

But do not ask what the msrp will be:furious: I know I will not be getting one any time soon...

for now, my 3 old school 8 w6's will do..

I'd say custom...

I was running a DD3512 in 2 cubes for a while. Box was tuned to 43hz. I could play it quite hard down to about 30hz with out issues. At one point, I had 2 BRZ2100.1's on it, one for each coil.

I never got to try it out tuned any lower.

I did have a 3510 in 1.5 tuned to 35 and she got good and low.

That DC level 3 12 will love a 1.5 cf net box with a nice fat slot port...

AFAIK Emminence and Credence are the only two companies that really manufacture in USA... beyond assembly. I'd be amazed if even they make their own magnets and steel.

ok I had to google that cuz i had NO idea wtf it was lol. Soooo that basically means those two subs SHOULD best the expected output given the proper box and wattage?

And im about to ask a dumb question here...i admitted i didnt know much about ported boxes...

But I "thought" when a box was tuned to to 43...or 40..or 37..or WHATEVER hz thats where the "meat" of the bass would hit...like a sweet spot. Am i wrong for thinking that? I know it will still play whatever freq the signal is given a crossover or whatnot and its not like a bass boost at a certain hz but in the grand idea am I close to right?

Ive been going back and forth with my buddy with whats being said in here and he said well you have two 8's..thats like one 15in sub as far as cone area.....and the one 10in L7 is like a round 12 as far as cone area and the 12 is like a 15..so that right there says it will move more air. I said its still more to it than that....and if square subs were so great how come I NEVER see any in good spl or sq builds.
