Gain Setting Tutorial

That helped a lot. I was just about to search on how to set my gain control, no need to know. I just have one question though that I couldn't figure out. I have 2 IDQ12 Dual 2 ohm subs and a jbl 600.1 amp and a JVC KD-LH300 HU. I can't figure out the desired volts I should get. Can you help me out? Thanks.

So correct me if I am wrong.

A Tarantula 500/4 (4x125W RMS) powering 2 component sets Oz Audio (3.5 Ohm tweeter + 4 Ohm midrange) would make: Sqrt(250*3.75) = 30.62v per side (front and rear). Or do I have to measure it in another way.

As for my subwoofers; RF 1501BD which delivers 1x750W RMS @ 4 Ohms and 1x1500W RMS @ 2 Ohms, but I have it running at 1.33 (3x MB Quarts PWE 302's), I am only guessing what power output it has at that ohm. I guess it's around 2000W RMS, right?

Therefore; Sqrt(2000*1.33) = 50.99v

Did I everything correct? If I made a mistake, I am sorry. Just woke up. Hehe.

hmm still a little lost on it all, since ive always done the "turn it up till it distorts and then just back off a little"

I have a d1200.1 viper amp running at 2ohm on a diamond m6 12" woofer, looking to get 600-700w out of it. What voltage should i be looking for here?

also in about a week ill be running that amp at 1ohm for a total of 1200 watts into 2 of the m6's, what voltage would be desired there?
