only problem is a unit with both in one is going to get expensive and there are not many around.

The easiest solution for you would be to upgrade the HU and get one like the 800prs or 9887 9886 that can do both

doesn't have to be a single unit. i can swing a 3 way x-over and a separate eq. best cheapest way is the goal.

if you are just trying to get by, then just get the inexpensive equip with the features you want.....

the steeper(higher number) the slope/octave, the quicker frequencies will be cut above/below set frequency.

so if you have a steeper slope per octave, then you can tune the frequency closer to the speaker's limit....

say you set a hpf to 100hz: a steeper slope (assume 30db/octave)means that 50 hz(one octave below 100hz) will be decreased in output by an equivalent of 30db.

once again hpf @ 100hz: this time a shallow slope (assume 15db/octave) means that 50hz will be decreased in output by an equivalent of 15db.

output wise, the steeper slope(30db/octave) will create less sound @ 50hz than the 15db/octave slope

this can be said continuously down the frequency range by octaves

steeper slopes will allow you to get lower frequencies out of your mids without compromising power or the equipment

I dont know anything about it, but it seems to have everything except time alignment.

Oh, and that same seller also has it in a 15 band version if 30 is too much.

holy shit thats huge. would you really need all that? would you hear a difference with the 30 compared to the 15?
