Enclosure build for Ben

Why does everyone clamp so much, the nails are there to hold it together until the glue dries. I dunno, good precaution I guess.
What nails? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

A box looks SO much cleaner and more professional IMO if there isn't a screw or nail showing.

very true, but imo its easier to putty the holes afterwards then have to wait for each panel to dry. plus i dont have enough clamps to do it this way //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

great work btw

Thanks guys //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

As for the clamps...yes, theyre the ones you see at home depot (jorgensen) and are around 16.50 for the 24" ones and 18 bucks or so for the 36" ones...I try and nab a pair of one of those sizes every couple visits im there

And yep, no nails/screws usually but will probably follow up in a few spots on this enclosure with some screws (and the double-baffles will be screwed together, but the heads are inside the enclosure and the screws are 1 1/4" so they dont come through the other side //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif)

Maybe some touch-up paint tomorrow and it'll go on the enclosure...then the next baffle-panel will go on

kinetik HC2000 going in the pt tomorrow morning ;-) closer and closer to getting my electrical up to par for the new box. Q for n e one watchin the thread, would the box sound better at the back of the cab or up agenst the front seats?? i needa know how long to run the wires.. only got like 45 foot left of 0g..

with pt cruiser, it all depends on the back seats.
with the back seats in, do the setup on the driver side of the cargo area. face the sub upward and the port / radiator to the passenger side for listening to music.

if you were to have the rear seats out, then pt cruiser responds better with the enclosure against the back of the front seats, with the sub up and the port / radiator to the rear.

i have spent countless hours in my pt cruiser with termlab and rta, if someone had told me this 2 years ago, i would have saved myself alot of trouble.

I'd try it out with it scooted forward (towards the front) a bit with the ports back...and then maybe give it a try with it all the way back firing forwards...but I'd say the port back would be my choice if it were me. And again, sorry this build is taking forever, man //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif...tomorrow I get off work right after noon and will have the whole day at the garage //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif...and I finally got that full sheet of mdf in the garage to cut the second baffle //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif...so that'll be cut and hopefully on tomorrow as well //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
