AB E1244 enclosure, (600w rms) (ez build)

Addressing a "Featured thread" recently /w/ manufacturer recommendations of 2.5ft3 net...
If I had to install one of these in my ride I'd do something like this...
Low tuned /w/ low delay. Considering the boom box the manufacturer listed as recommended I have to submit this as a improved design. No frills just a legit subbass enclosure...

Haha... the marketing dept at AB needs work imo... Who wants a peaky, steep rolloff, hi-delay bass BOX after all. Claiming 2X rms and slinging a bs enclosure to boot? Knock, knock AB....

Nuff said...

Ez build, ez to model up, why the extreme power claims AB? Once I found the problem it modeled up nice with deep extension and low delay with a nice peak for my tastes. But 1200rms?

I'll let this lurk in this section awhile... prove me wrong.

I was not liking the modeling until looking at how it reacted to power applied, everything looked like it should except...
I reduced power input and kept doing so until everything coalesced around 750w input.

Its NOT the 1st AB sub I've had to do this for and their power claims seem a wish list for their entry-mid level subs across the board. When comparing them to legit known solid products they don't do well.

What's up AB?.. why not give real info? A lower power sub can still do work in the right enclosure.

That is one thing I have noticed across the board; subs rated for 1k RMS but played ~600 they sound phenonenal. Give them more and sound starts to degrade. Makes me wonder how some guys claim to be pumping 1k into a certain sub I have used before and it not tearing itself apart?
