well reinforce it for what tho?why not reinforce it though, it never hurts. 1200 RMS used to dim my 95 amp alt with new battery til I did the big three.
now i got a new vehicle with 130 amp and its gonna need to be heavily reinforced
2.4v ouchI had at least as much power as you and other than the big-3 upgrade, I did nothing to my electrical. Yes the lights dimmed on heavy bass notes and dynamic music, but the battery lasted nearly 5 years and only died because my mother-in-law left the lights on and it wasn't discovered for over a week. Battery was at a whopping 2.4 V when I pulled it. A second battery would have helped the dimming but most stock electricals can handle a pretty big system at moderate volumes. Unless you turn on the headlights you'd be hard pressed to tell that anything is different most of the time.
LOL, i agree with playing with the "big boys" i have no real interest in being in a comp, alot of fun to go to but thats where teh road ends for me.Anytime a knowledge member on here is giving out recommendations for an electrical system it is based off the equipment and power being ran.
Obviously if your drawing minimal current you will need minimal modifications to the electrical system to support it.
But, if you want to play with the big boys, you gotta pay like the big boys.

What's wrong with doing the big 3? Any car I get for now on I will do it regardless. It's cheap, and depending on which car, it's easy to do. I can understand not getting a HO alt for that small of a system, but BIG 3 is the first upgrade you should do when you install aftermarket amps and subs. I am running 2800RMS but I more than likely will never run my stuff at full tilt. I like to have that luxury of being able to when and if I want.LOL, i agree with playing with the "big boys" i have no real interest in being in a comp, alot of fun to go to but thats where teh road ends for me. I got raged up this morning because someone was advising a big 3 for a 600watt rms setup. i mean seriously. I figure i will help some of the smaller folks like me. 2 years ago i almost got scared out of upgrading my system because you cannot put a ho alternator in a HHR without removing the computer system completely. i said fuk it. i am gonna do it anyways. Now that i know what i do, i could probably do 2500 watts rms with a kenetic battery in the car safely without much dimming.
Exactly, and every noob out there immediatly says BIG three! even without concidering .....WHY?Most people advise the big 3 when someone is having electrical issues since it is about the cheapest thing you can do, and its one of the better modifications to do off the start.
But, there are a lot of misinformed people out there misinforming many others. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
