Craziest system on stock ALT!!

ew UK..... I thought u meant the deka was the 2nd batt in the trunk (as if to say 1 batt in the rear). so nevermind that. That's a loud AS1 car, what's the record? should be up there. Let me guess... there's areos coming out of the box somewhere
A 147.4 is the loudest AS1 score that I am aware of. I don't think that this truck will beat it because jeeps are horrible at the headrest. A truck like mine could beat it, but I can't go back to AS:crap:

I'm running my current setup off of stock alt, a powermaster D1200 up front and a D3100 in the trunk. Big 3 and all wiring done with single runs of 0 gauge.

(current setup if it's not in my sig is a GP-3000D Pro (3000 RMS at 1ohm) and a kicker ZX350.4 (gains set to put about 120-150 at both channels, so about 275-300 total.)

Voltage drop at full tilt with A/C on is down to about 12.7, a/c off about 13.1

I am running my Maxximus 10,000 from my stock alt. I have a few batteries in there. Currently 3 Kinetik HC2400s and voltage drops from 14.6v to 12.2 or so at a full burp and I measured over 11,000w output of the amp.

My old SS 1-2 car was 8) modded MTX 1501Ds from my stock Plymouth Horizon alternator. Actual output was around 17,000watts.

I'm running a DD M3 at 1ohm in my Saleen on the stock Alt...no problems so far and no dimming...I haven't even did a big 3...I really see no point since dimming is not an issue...plus the car is equipped from Saleen with under drive pulleys so the car runs at low 13v's when running.....I think the M3 is one of the most efficient 2400w amp you can buy...

To all those running 2000Watt rms+ with their stock alt, did the alt failed? I'm abusing mine and i ain't got the money to get a high output for now
I have never had an issue.

Infact. because of my batteries, it is easier on my alternator. Of course I stay at full charge all the time.

My batteries have a combined lower internal resistance than my OEM battery. (tested) They are very easy to charge. I dont play music with the engine off and when I have it parked in the shop during testing I have my charger/maintainer hooked up, so may batteries always stay charged.

Maybe Im reading more into what you said than was meant, but if your stock alt cant output the amount of power your stereo can consume, you aren't staying at full charge.

So many of you guys talk about how many watts you are running on your stock alt, like somehow you can break the laws of physics and output more power than your alt can/will produce. Adding batteries will only delay the inevitable, loss of stored energy resulting in voltage drops. Low ESR batts will not change this outcome in any way, low ESR makes the batts more efficient but the laws of physics still apply. You cannot get something for nothing.

You could hook up a million watt system to a stock alt and have it survive, if you know what you're doing. But if you are pretty much clueless and think your 12 volt charging system is run by magic and voodoo, then that's not gonna happen.
The key to running a large system on a stock alt? Two ways... burp it, relying on your batts to maintain as much charge as possible through the relatively large demand but short duration. Second, setting your adjustments artificially low and/or never turning the volume knob up so you never actually output that large wattage number. Either of these tactics, followed up by bragging to your friends what your system's advertised wattage is, while running on your stock alt, is sure to impress people into believing the whole voodoo thing.

But the truth is, you cannot get something from nothing. Every watt of energy your amps put out to your speakers must/will be generated by the alternator.
Law of Diminishing Return will happen soon enough if the amateurs keep it bangin //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif (not making fun of you, just an fyi to others)
