Depends if you're into gaming and what games you play. IF you play games that take up a lot of disk space then yeah it'd be worth it. An example of these games would be WoW, Age of conan. any mmo basically.

Computer will be used for mainly Web design, photoshop, internet, music, and maybe the occasional game but nothing hard core. I am not into gaming much.

Seagate HD for the 5 year warranty.
Yeah 5 year warranty doesnt do jack shit when it dies on you though, WD had a warranty on the HD i have right here but that doesnt fix the 300gb of stuff I cant get off of it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Hard drives will be setup in Raid 1, I have already had a few hard drives fail on me, mostly WD //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
I have about 300gb of music and I use the computer for work reasons also so there are documents that I can not allow to ever have dissapear on me

I just stream **** or bring a girl back from the bars
Wait.......that's 2 750s for 240? that's a good price. Cheapest i've seen locally was 130ish. I can get 500 WDs from Frys for 69 bucks. I wouldn't blow my wad in one spot, if you shop around you can get better deals. Like Frys has a deal on a better quad for like 30 bucks more. It comes with a shitty board, but you could sell the board for like 30 and you got a better proc. They also have gread deals on memory too.

Are you trying to go next level with this build? or are you just setting a budget and trying to get the best bang for that budget? I have a few things I could sell you.

if you could, post a link of this other processor, but I was told the 6600 was pretty good. Also I am just palnning on making a great computer that wont give me problems and I can show it off to my friends when I need to, all though I am not a huge gamer or anything I still want to have some decent parts in it. thanks

I haven't checked up on prices but i think you can get a better dvd drive then the one that you picked out. And i think they're cheaper also. Get a good psu and have you looked at the gskill rams? they get some very good reviews on newegg. You can also check out newegg's forum, they're very helpful.

if I didnt have two dead WDs sitting on my desk, one internal and one external, I wouldnt steer as far away from them as I am right now
Bad luck? I have only ever had WD or Seagate. My mom's Hitachi in her Dell went out after a few years. I still have a few 6 gig, 2MB cache WD drives laying around that I could fire up.

Build looks pretty solid. Good luck.

only drives i ever had problems with were old IBM "deathstars"

if you need the storage i would get the WD 640gb drives and raid them, they use 2 320gb platters and are extremely fast

if you would rather not run a raid setup get a raptor as the OS/program drive and use whatever for storage. i prefer seagate, WD and samsung

me and my buddies at school make funny videos when where bored, just figured I could burn more in the same amount of time.
ah, never really tried to burn two discs at the same time, i would be afraid of errors

fwiw, i have an asus dvd burner and have never had any problems with it

you should also look at the ATI 4850 video card in the $175-200 price range

i could get a used evga 8800gts for about $70
