adventures of getting my wisdom teeth cut out

well today was the day. after waiting for about 40 minutes at the dentist i finally went to the back room for my procedure. it was pretty narly getting the anestesia done for the first time cause i took my friends advice and tried to see how long i could last before i passed but only lasted 2 minutes.

here they are. as you can see the left one is broken and a few more pieces of it are missing and i am hoping he was nice enough to retrieve them also.

it seems that the whole procedure has changed within the past few years cause other than throwing up alot of blood once i got home i have had very little problems. i the pain has been minimal or at sometimes none and i havent even touched my brand new bottle of hydrocodone.

havent had any real food for more than 30 hours so chicken noodle soup was a site for any sore eyes.

picked up 4 shakes from sonic downed 3 in a few hours and plus a few from wendies and am contemplating the ones left.

they even gave me this nifty bag for my teeth. all i know is that the dam tooth fairy better pay up or shes getting some suprise buttsecks tonight. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

yeah, i opted to have my dentist do it instead of an oral surgeon....so i didnt get anestesia, just gas. and i was awake through the whole thing. i could hear/feel my teeth cracking. still gives me the creeps just thinkin about it. and then the whole throwing up blood thing sucked.

Nice, i got mine done like 6years ago. I was gassed with laughing gas and after it was all over I said I was fine and proceeded to walk into the wall of the office. I then remember waking up in my bed with blood all over my pillow. Good times

when i had mine pulled, they told me not to spit the blood out at all as it could rupture the gums and start making them bleed again.

The first 3-4hrs after waking up, there is no pain but i also couldnt take my pills because my throat was numb and couldnt voluntarily swallow on my own yet.

Once the numbness went away, i was in hell... I took the pills but they didnt react enough.

I eventually had to take 8 advils. Not at the same time, but i took 2 sets of 4 in a 4-5hr period.

Something happened and i started to sweat real fast and it got me tired real fast. I was handed an ice cold towel that cooled me down in about 2 minutes then i pretty much passed out. I woke back up bout 3 hrs later completely fine...

I started eating. Now, i went back to work 3 days later but the hydrocodone wasnt strong enough for me to stay at work so someone gave me a vicodon and they was EXACTLY what i needed. It took the lightheadedness away and the pain.

i dont remember this but apparently when it was over i sprung up from the chair got in the wheel chair and sat with my head back passed out. then when they wheeled me to my moms suv i all of a sudden sprung up again and off we went. then like 5 minutes later i wake up and im like how the hell did i get her?

Take all precautions to not get dry socket.

Especially no smoking.

good thing i dont smoke. the wierd thing was when i went for my consultation i had to sit and initial beside all what seemed like 50 different possible things that could go wrong on the sheet and the one that scared me the most was having a broke jaw. how do you end up with a broke jaw?

vicodin and hydrocodone are the same **** thing

hydro is just generric version

Also swoosh salt water around your mouth to keep it clean. i think thats what it was atleast..

The dentist can break your jaw while opening it wide to get to the back.
