Cobalt SS Build!

The Cobalt SS's are pretty quick for a stock 4-banger.
By standard terms.

I almost bought one, then I drove a MazdaSpeed3. For some reason it felt completely different, the Mazda handled better, and every slobalt I got into it with(minus one) it wasnt a close race even while stock on stock.

I did get my *** spanked by one slobalt, but he was modded with a 75 shot, if I remember correctly //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Also - the T1's arent too too bad of woofers, a bit overpriced for me though. I didnt like the sound of the Power series components, comparable to the Alpine Type R's just not quite as loud for me.

maybe we can meet up sometimes I'd like to hear it....
I dont know how to really tune the amp lol...but it sounds good. My ears hurt sometimes

Also, Yes i do race but when you think about it, like i said- I took my spare out and Jack and all that other stuff down there out. It only added like 50lbs after it was all set and done i think.

I dont normally street race, but when i do its normally roll races.

I am going to the dyno here in some weeks to make sure i am putting down the right numbers

looking for 315whp and 345tq.

But today ill be home to wash and take pictures!

Comaparison to the MS3

Although it might "feel" like it handles better, It doesnt. The 2009 Cobalt SS set the lap record. 8:22. fastest yet by a car in its class. and Beat the GTR //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

MS3 win's on interior

SS/TC wins on Engine

When it comes down to it, Ill be getting a AWD car next. STI or EVO.

Style is more of a peoples choice ya know....!

i can go on if anyone is interested about my car and its class. IDK if you call a car that is capable of 13.6 stock a "slobalt" //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I guess that means the speakers in the front lol?

I have been looking into Components for the fronts. Like i said im not to familar with how it all works. But i am sure i need a new Headunit right? I was thinking about getting a double din

I have a possible trade for a Kenwood.

Its so expensive for my car to hook it up though,

The wire harness is like 150 to keep all the hook ups ( Steering whell controls) which i dont use.

I always use th knob on the headunit.

When you have folks claiming to run a 14.2 in a glorified slug, I'm not sure if automotive issues are really worth addressing. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

FWIW, you have a great car. Enjoy. Personally, I'd opt for a lighter audio solution, but that's an individual choice. As an example, my current sub weighs 24lbs with enclosure.

thats what i like about the critical mass neos in my Saleen ...only 17lbs each

I have thought about selling this set-up

How much do you think i could get out of it?

Amp has warrenty untill 2012

Subs are 5 months old and still have warrenty here.

I've been trying to convince the guys at SSA to make a Lcon - a lightweight, sensitive driver for the automotive enthusiast. No luck so far. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

don't these cars just have the same engine as my Saturn ion just supercharged? Hahaha if it's got the 2.2 ecotec which I thought it did, it's the same as an ion redline ha
