Car audio in my room..

what r those painted with the paint looks thick
Two coats of killz laytex primer, sanded in between, and the paint is Valsper gloss gray. nothing fancy, just two even coats. When i make legs for them, i might pick up another can of paint and sand these a little with light grain and put two more coats on.

Lol no, Go on new egg get 2 cosair 700watt psu's there 70amp psu's and wire them togather, should be enough,,will cost you 90$ a psu...
70 amps is a lot of power for indoors lol. I'm running about 60 to each side, and its loud enough, and thats online like 10 amps max @ 12v. one of those and a little batt would be plenty for some in home fun.

For $90 you can buy a decent plate amp, with crossover, auto power on, wireless remote, fuse and 120V plug already wired in. No fires.

The cabinets look nice, but for the effort you put into it, you could have dropped a couple of cheap woofers, one cheap tweeter build/buy a simple crossover and you would have much better sound.

I understand why people try to convert car audio lying around to home use, but it is always better to just sell the gear and get HT stuff. You'll get much better bang for your buck.

My favorite "bang for the buck" is free. I spent $3.88 at walmart for spades, and ~$7 for paint. the rest was laying around the house, including amp and psu's. It may not sound "as good" as mids and tweets, but with the subs im getting, it will sound better then anything else iv had in my room.

$90 plate amp that does 80rms x 2 ?

Like I already said. If you had sold that gear you would have money to buy HT gear. For the effort you put into those cabinets you could have much better sound for the same money.

Thats some good stuff, thanks man, I see your point. Either way works, it was just easier to start this way, and I have the amps i need to run the system. I look at it this way, i can always use this gear in a small car as well.

But honestly, how good do you think it would sound with that woofer and $7 tweeter? Could you run two woofers and two tweeters?

The RE 6.5" coax i have, they sound really nice for the price i paid for them, and this is just going to be in my room, in a dorm lol...
