it actually affects above 20hz a bit. Subsonic filter is basically a high pass filter that goes really low and with most filters, there's a slope. In general for amps its only a 12 db octave slope. It does not start at 20hz, it starts before and the rapid downward drop actually happens at 20hz but you'll start losing 1 or 2 db a couple of frequencies above. It'll look similar to this. Not as drastic drop as the graph but you'll definitely notice it.Only frequencies above your setting come through so if I'm tuned at 20 hz and set my ssf @ 40 hz then nothing under 40 hz plays...

I havnt read this thread at all but I had that box with some kenwoods in it. Hit a 136db on around 600rms but its tuned way high. Like almost 50hz and its absolutely stuffed with polyfill.

i dont recall tbh. its been a few years. It stopped about half way into the first subHey Camry, there was another member on here too with that very same sub enclosure. He couldn't figure out why he couldn't hit the low notes. I dunno if he ever fixed the problem but he said it was a gift to him.
How short is that port tube?
+1Why is this thread still going? Op has small kicker box tuned to like 42hz. That's why it doesn't play low. Get new box
