Can a sub be damaged because box too big?

So if I was to pull my 21 out of its 8.4 net box and build a bigger box say 15 net. It would be louder & play the same on 3K no issues ??? Or let's say just double the box. 16.8 net with about 250 sqin port.

On 3k yes put that in a 15^3 box and let it wang.

Sounds like your wrong. I run woofers in huge boxes all the time. In my last wall I had two 18s in 22cubes on a 8k at .5ohm... They loved that big box. I didn't shorten or something you can't think of. What are u even talking about. Why do you think everyone builds there walls as big as you can? Space makes bass homie. Put your sundown x 15s in a 8cube box and then put them in a 14cube box and tell me which one you like more? I bet you pick big box
They don't recommend the cu ft for subs for nothing. Bigger walls for comps yes but for everyday listening no.

My buddy has 4 15s in 30cubes. Daily. Does 158.1db at 33hz on music he must be doing something wrong

My wall is 30cubes only because it's cpillar and 30cubes is all I could fit

Me? Right now voltage and power is holding me back. 157db from cpillar on music is good but I will get that 160db... Triple alts is next on my list... Right now my door panels are at the shop getting done
Ya you lol

I just got a 615 dollar check in the mail. I need more wood.

I gotta just stop buying stuff. I just bought some Moto metal mo970s 18x10 with -24 offset with tires for my truck for winter. I could prly sell those and just pick up some cheap stocks and use that money for audio. But I like to keep my rim game on POINT.. And I just bought those 26s like 2months ago

Bigger boxes can be good, but if it's a big box and your sub is unloading below tuning, that's a bad thing.

I would rather run a sub in a little over recommended than a little under recommended

I'd like to know how one sub blew and not the other if ran on the same amp.
No seemed to see that in question??
The wires came unplugged to one sub //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif the gain setting needs to be different if it's at 2 ohms instead of the one ohm it was adjusted to.

No, you just never noticed something was wrong with your system. Train your ears and monitor your setup regularly and sh*t like this wont happen. You can literally hear and smell clipping or subwoofer being stressed out if you train your ears(doesnt take much to train)

After displacement. The 15s in 30 cubes has 230" of port and the two zv4 12s has a port that is 10x7
Thats a hella low port area per cubic feet ratio. Seems like there is no port noise at all though. Whats the tuning? I tried plugging in a 30 cube enclosure with that port area and anything longer than 15" long drops the tuning down to the mid 20s. The length of his port looks longer than that.

The hhr is tuned to 30hz and peaks at 33hz and the Bonniville with 2 zv4 12s in tuned to 30hz... There is no port noise at all. It's all about the enclosure working with your cars cabin/airspace..
