Can a sub be damaged because box too big?

The hhr is tuned to 30hz and peaks at 33hz and the Bonniville with 2 zv4 12s in tuned to 30hz... There is no port noise at all. It's all about the enclosure working with your cars cabin/airspace..
Thats real strange man, 230 sq inches of port area with a 30 cubic foot net enclosure would need very short port length to be at 30hz. His port length looks over 25 inches long. How do you even get 30hz tuning when everything calculates out to lower - mid 20s or so.

Pretty good question. I didn't build it so I don't have exact measurements but I know it's 30cubes with 231" of port and the person that built it says it's tuned to 30hz and on the mic it peaks at 33hz. What looks good on paper doesn't always work out in a vehicle. It's all about trail and error

Edit yea I typed in some numbers and he might be tuned to like 25hz but peaks at 33hz... But the guy that built it said tuned to 30hz.... But regardless the box is big as fawk and 30cubes and does a 158.1db at 33hz at slamology this year and took 1st place
