BUILD! 03 Chevy S10 Xtreme 4 18's

you were told that because circles rarely crack. A 90 degree angle, however will. Do you have ANY plans for adding support to the body and bed after you remove what is essentially holding it together?

Yes I have metal rodding that I plan to weld in as supports around the cut area

well I got my cap back and I have mixed feeling about it. I got it painted at Macco, and when I first looked at it it looked great, but that was inside a dim lighted garage. It's when I got back to my house that I noticed how crappy of a job they did on one side. It seriously looks like they didn't prime or scuff it enough, because I can see sanding trails through the paint and there's one particular part of the cap that had a fist sized paint chip on it before they painted, and its clearly showing through the paint. I didnt think I had to worry about that but I guess I was wrong. I'm really not a picky guy, I mean I can understand a few little imperfections here and there, but when its to the point that I think I could have done a better job myself with a store bought car spray paint its pretty bad. It wasn't a cheap paint job either, $230 for a cap is a lot when you can get a whole car painted for just a little more(depending on the size).

I've gone to that same place before and they did a great job when they painted my car, and even then the car had worse paint chips on it before it was painted and they fixed them right up. .

Here's some pics of the cap right now, I cant really get a good shot at what I'm talking about because it just started to rain, but here's what it looks like on the truck anyway......

Everyone that I've shown so far agrees that they did a pisss poor job on that side, so I'm going back tomorrow and talking to the owner. Hopefully they will agree to redo it.

generally a Maaco paint job is just a pull it in and spray it. Most of the time, it is on you to do all the prep work unless you specified you wanted it done. Hope you get it straightened out though!

That might be true for some of the super cheap jobs, but when he was quoting it for me they said they scuff and prime, I just don't want to end up ripping someone a new ******* down there for not know how to do their job.

did they bother to remove any of the hardware or just spray over everything?? Everything looks painted cept the window //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Thats because I wanted the back painted, and I removed all the hardware before because I have all new handles and such, I just got off the phone with them and it looks like he'll fix it

I went back to macco today and I didnt even have to argue or explain anything to the guy to have him agree with me to redo it. It's going back in monday to get refinished.

Here's some pics of my car with 20's on it for right now...

the backend wont be that high when its finished but its going to look pretty close to how it looks now.....

here's a pic of where the paint is screwed up on the cap, if you look closely you can see scratches under the paint. .

Why dont you get that front bumper painted?
Slam that *****
well...cuz frankly I think it would be a waste of money right now, I planning on getting a 2-tone paint job after everything is installed so it would just be painted over anyway..

I just ordered 2 Rub2.600 amps for my doors, so I'll post the pics of them when I get them on Friday //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
