He soldered the speaker wire to the amp?
yes, and he stands by it proudly stating that he "solders all of his connections"
i will provide complete pictures of how the amplifier was wired up , from speaker-terminal out.
But what was very annoying is how they used such weak screws and my hole amp wrack came loose with the vibrations going on back there, causing my amp to cut in and out because the big *** 0 gauge wire came loose, NOT GOOD !
completely unprofessional, and very annoying how i am never able to watch them do the work on my car, so i will be deffinatly looking for a new installer to finish this project.
I tend to stick with this setup for a year or two, then i will be getting another Alternator, 1 more 2000 kinetic battery for the trunk, and then upgrading my hifonics amp, getting somthing stronger and getting 2x of them, then replacing the SX's with MT's. That is the End-game design for my system basicly. I have read into the MT's alot more, and found out they are the sub i will deffinatly want to aim for not the XXX.
But now i just want to find a good installer, and get thease things done propperly so they sound their best dont DONT blow up! like i said, the Amplifier i have the terminals look like this:
-- ++ not -+ -+
so to get it down to 1ohm wouldnt you just have to run seperate speaker cable 1 with 2 ends going into both positives, then another speaker cable with 2 ends going into the negatives, and then wire the subs up in paralell? i saw a picture of it in one of my old threads, somebody posted how to wire up the JLw7's at 1ohm i belive it was with a amp very similar to mine.
But he crossed mine so it went from positive, to negative each speaker cable then that cable went to one of the MA audio subwoofers connected too it, then 2 more little ones ran from that to the other connection points. I do belive that they where recivng a 2ohm load or somthing around that i dont belive it was correctly wired up at 1ohm, and this is why i am scared to go back there now with subwoofers that NEED to be wired up propperly.
will get video of the speaker wiring up ASAP. thanks guys for all your support and help !
