Bought 2 RE audio 18 SX's....... and....

go to a different shop!! DIY! DIY! DIY! just hang out here and read for like 3 weeks everyday and ask lots of questions
Installer is a ****ign tool piece of shiiit idiot, tell him I said that.

You would be better off at best buy - everything you wrote including the $200 battery isolator just screams RIP OFF..

Drive another half hour if you have to this installer is certifiably a retard and is only gonna mess your shit up and guess what? he doesn't care! because your dumass will just buy more from him.

Also the actual wiring is done really shittily he solders shitty and he terminates wire ends shittily - just wait till one of those loose wires from your two positives touches!!! then you will be buying anew amp from this *******.. Power wire being loose this shop sucks!!!!

lol, i was leaning towards thinking this. and yeah, i was really peeved about all the loose wires and the amp wrack comming loose i didnt buy any of this gear from him its all been ordered online, futureshop only sells crappy MTX stuff and he probably thinks he is some sort of awsome installer because he hammers out 20 cookie cutter installs every week of the same old crap, they have never seen anything like my stereo before and admitly said that this system is the first that they have seen with 18''s. So i assume they havent done many big amplifiers or dual battery installs. I appreciate your post, i know im not stupid or a dumbass but i AM a dumbass when it comes to stereo installations, i am new at this and still learning so i have to take it apon my self to become educated, and i appreciate you guys pointing thease kinds of things out via the videos.

I am going to be calling around and finding a much better installer for sure, and to the last poster i have no idea what you mean, im asking people to watch because then the ones who DO know what they are talking about can inform me propperly. I would have liked to been able to proove he wired the subwoofers up wrong and caused the MA audio ones to blow //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif but i guess thats not possible, i just will make sure to spread the word to avoid his shop for sure, is there anything else you can do to prevent shitty installers from continually getting work ?

Thanks everybody for your help //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I should have my subwoofers in 4-7 days expect lots of video/pictures then ! will be taking it too a differant shop for sure !

You can't tell what ohm the subs were wired to by looking at the amp. Even if they were wired to 4 ohms instead of 1 ohm it would not have damaged anything.
good to know ! but still diss-heartening that my installer would not even show me what they where running at infront of me, and when i asked what ohms they where running at he responded with "i dont know"

i cant wait to get my new subwoofers, i am going to a differant place to get them installed this time i am deffinatly going to make sure i get quality work.

stay tunned guys ! i will try to put it on a metre to see what levels it can hit !

any predictions ?

Buy that dmm everyone's been talking about. You'll find tons of uses for it.

I thought the SX was made in China these days along with the RE and SE series. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif
apparently they are hand-made now //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif i hooked them up 1 at a time, 1 of them was louder than both of my MA audio XE 18''s.

the 2nd one will be going tonight, ill have video up of it if i can get some ! **** thease things are going to hammer extremely loud. The sound-quality is deffinatly a step-up but the SPL has not been sacraficed at all. I am very pleased with thease subwoofers.

Anybody have any questions feel free to shoot ! it is deffinatly cool to own a pair with 2 prototype 2009 motors in them //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Sorry to hear that you were misinformed about where the products are manufactured. We still design and hand build our products here in the USA.

but the parts are made in china. It's ok, everyone does it. We all just hate the lofty "made in the usa" associations that companies make all the time.

Just run the batteries in parallel and fuse correctly between the batteries. You have an HO alt?

i ordered from RE audio's website, the canadian version and have been dealing with

he is great, they custom build their subs to your specs i needed D4's for my amp to achive a 1ohm setup for both of them, they do D2's And D4's and build all the subwoofers by hand, i recommend them to anybody for sure just on customer service alone.

Expect to have a video journal of theaes subwoofers being taken out of the crates, installed and tested with a meter to see what they hit ! I have a completely custom built fibreglass box, thease things are going to hammer like Thor! thank god for a giant trunk //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif pictures/video will be up ASAP //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif also the review of the new drivers //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

i cant wait ! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif thanks guys for clearing that up.
I resemble that remark:D Nice upgrade. wiring them in is a piece of cake no need for an installer. Just hook both negs on ea. sub together and both positives together and hook into amp. Pos to pos neg to neg. That will give your new subs a 1 ohm load.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

just finished and both the subwoofers are in, havent had much time to test the system but from what i can tell so far they are EXTREMELY louder than the MA audio XE's i had ( that should be an easy guess ) but i was suprised and happy to see the SPL levels thease subs produce is very high, aswell as outstanding soundquality.

i didnt even get to take the deck up past 20 volume and the hole car was blowing apart, and its a heavy *** car ! RE audio all the way im converted //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

p.s to that guy who was tryin to get me to buy a USamp instead of hifonics i take back calling you a salesmen ! lol, :p

So you are saying none of your speaker lines are assembled in China? Everyone gets parts from China these dys, that is not what Im referring to. I was under the impression the newest SE and SX models, with the small logo at the bottom of the cone, was now being assembled in China.

SX, MX, MT and XXX are all US made.. the SE series is china made. mostly of the raw materials used in all well knowned subwoofer comes from china...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I know most manufcturers at least get parts from China. I said as much in my previous reply. What I dont get is, if they DO make/assemble the SE in China, why did I get a sarcastic reply from an RE/US Amps dealer saying I was misinformed and they design/build their products by hand in the USA.
So I guess I have to ask the question.... who is right? And if its ruel, why are being lead to believe all products are designed, built and assembled in the USA?
