hey guys, my MA audio 18's went that i had from years ago, that where running off my hifonics amp. took 4 months but they finally blew ! hehe pretty good considering one of them the cone was split in half and held together with PL floor adhesive lol.

anyways, i ordered 2 nice RE audio 18'' SX's and greg has begun to build them for me, but yesterday i recived this message.

can somebody with a bit more experiance with subwoofer technoladgy explain to me what this means please ?

"Andrew,

I went to build your SX18’s with the current production motors but at this time we are out of stock on that part. But if you give me your approval today I can hook you up with the NEW 2009 Prototype SX motors….. They actually out perform the current motor by about 10% while maintaining strength and a slight bit shallower.

Sorry for the delay just let me know ASAP"

Can you please explain to me witch part of the subwoofer is the motor ? and if this is going to reduce the quality of the woofers ? i saw the word prototype and got a bit scared //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif but hell if they are better than last years and outpreform them i should take up the offer correct ?

Please gimmie some help guys ASAP ! i cant wait to recive thease things and put them in my car on my Brutus 2600rms, i am so exited to hear thease bad mother's //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

the big hunk of metal and magnet on the end of the basket.

I would go for it. Its not like they are going to make a proto motor try to **** more than the normal motor. Then, you can tell everyone you have the prototype versiosn of the sub, and sound exclusive //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

haha you really think an upgraded part that outperforms the current one would be worse? If you don't know what the motor is I guess you better search and learn a thing or two about car audio. I would hate to see you **** up those sx's

i ordered from RE audio's website, the canadian version and have been dealing with

Greg Carolus

US Amps - RE Audio Tech Support / Production Manager

he is great, they custom build their subs to your specs i needed D4's for my amp to achive a 1ohm setup for both of them, they do D2's And D4's and build all the subwoofers by hand, i recommend them to anybody for sure just on customer service alone.

Expect to have a video journal of theaes subwoofers being taken out of the crates, installed and tested with a meter to see what they hit ! I have a completely custom built fibreglass box, thease things are going to hammer like thor ! thank god for a giant trunk //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif pictures/video will be up ASAP //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif also the review of the new drivers //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

i cant wait ! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif thanks guys for clearing that up.

RE audio has some great subs. I have an older RE HC 15 D2 that pounded on 2000 RMS, and now i have an RE XXX 15 D2 on the way on 2500 RMS. You wont be dissappointed

thats awsome to hear ! how are they for SPL ? they gonna rattle doors on 2600 rms ? hehe. my box is 10cu, ill post a video of the box tomarow while it is still empty.

i have a kinetic 1800 under the hood and a kinetik 2000 i have about to be put under the amp when i put the new subwoofers in, just keeping it until then.

my end-goal for this setup is to have 2 18'' RE audio XXX's running on a hifonics brutus 2600RMS per subwoofer, or the USamps equivilant. depending on how satisfied i am with their RE audio subwoofers.

Can you give me an idea of the SX's ability to produce SPL ? i am looking to enter atleast entry level competitions around here with this setup, will that be possible? my old junk 18's where rattling my front winshield and my car is big, if you guys have seen my old posts with my videos of the car in it's a big luxury beast, a crystler LHS So even with those crap 18's it was moving some serious air, can i expect thease RE audios to be even better ?

Also here are some videos :

After subs blew ( a look inside my fibreglass box) http://blip.tv/file/1856306

Before my MA audio subs blew http://blip.tv/file/1651367

Could somebody please tell me if those MA audio sub's where wired in a 1ohm fashion ? thanks guys !

Also any info like i stated in the above quoted post about RE audio would be great, i am new to there line of products, never heard of them before.

So please guys fill me in and let me know what i should expect //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
