Hey ALL, I'm NOT a power-user on these forums, so dont know how to do the 'quote' thing //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
WOT- , MROGOWSKI is the OWNER of Mach5Audio in Canada. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
JMANPC- ur correct. 2x4" ports for 8-12's. 1-4" port for 4- 12's. NO problem //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
Me & my bassheads prefer to knotch up the 25-32 hz about 9db- WITH the EPIcenters. More of a 'flatter' low-end response, rather than an huge midbass gain.Others prefer the 45-50 hz bump. Me- cant stand 'Bonky bass', so maybe the low freq extension is more audible rather than scads of air movement? But, no obtrusive or unwanted sounds emitted from the ports. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
There isnt any more surface area for more portage and couldnt cut them in later IF I needed them so just fab'd them up in the original layup
With just the thickness of the baffle 3/4"- the freq is 46 hz- dam near puked at the bonky plastic bass noise! With the 4 inch long flange- it drops to 33 hz, but the air pressure just chucked them out to the dash every time I hit the bass button! lol, So, went down to 28 hz- mmm, like that- solid- like a bag of lead in the back of the head rather than a hollow 2x4 against a football helmut! lol.
The Pick-up cab aint the most accomodating for a big stereo, but have done minivans in the past and this suited the purpose for the tow vehicle.
I have a guy back in Ontario, owns a shop- cant sell an EPIcenter- read, CANT sell 'em! Perhaps not knowing HOW to inform the user of the benefits???
I dont know why an EPI wouldnt be SOLD with EVERY subwoofer system??? The signal just isnt there- gotta put it back in and hear the music the way it was intended.
I even put an EPIcenter in my Home Theatre- 8x18"s & 13,000 watts (46 drivers for the front 7 channels). It does some damage to the house, but ooooohhhhh is there bass! lol (The Behringer Ultra-Bass1200 wasnt cutting it! )
Yes- there are 3 batteries. The low internal resistance of the Optimas doesnt require a cap bank. Have a 30 Farad cap bank- but havent needed it yet. I know some are against caps- but they have their purposes. Do they rectify the low voltage drop to the unregulated amps? NO. Will they stop ur lights from flickering and give u better sustained bass notes? Yes. SO- while they dont resolve the low voltage situation occuring from NOT enuf battery- do they accomplish something- like a band-aid solution? Yes.
Alt is puitting out 15.3 and hammertime drops to 12.4, then IF long play- seen it go down to 11.3 CANT sit in the vehicle and play it that loud for that long, so just go for a ride or charge between shows- all good! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif)
Thanks for the kind words, all. Gettin near done! Woulda bin better IF I resolved to build a Project vehicle- like an old Model-T- FORD restoration or somethin- then I woulda bin prepared for the duration! But- this was to be like a 3-week build, that kept morphing into more complex and more custom and more handbuilt than I ever intended //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
Cheers~!
