Big Dave + 8 IXL-12's =

Of course a router jig was used. But- after 6 gallons of resin & 5 gallons of bondo, cutting the wrap out and nicking the wood, etc, things dont look as pristine as when they were first cut, As long as the finished product doesnt have any glaring flaws- its all good. I COULD have sanded and filed the inner speaker baffle holes SMOOTH- but, do u think that'd get me an Extra point with the Judges at a competition??? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Hope u like the rest of the install? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I should mention also- b4 someone notes- there ia 100 sq feet of VB-2 sound deadening and 1 gallon of rubberized undercoat to add mass to the Exterior panels and roof and back wall. The DOORS are lined on the Outter skin and shutz'd and then I re-installed the factory sound mat to keep road noise to a minimum- on the panels themselves. Layered the Outter skin to reduce rattles, but I didnt line the inner door as the pods will use the door cavity for the Mid bass drivers as well as the midrange- so lined outter skins and matted inner panel- should work fine //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Ya- thats the 100 SQ feet of VB2- lined the outter skins to keep the DB inside //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I'm just givin you a hard time //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Looks fantastic. Only thing I don't like is the ports. Other than that, looks top-notch.

Ports? My PORTS? MY Ports???? GRRR! THEY LOOK GREAT! ( haha- they may NOT work- but they look good! lmao.

I ordered the gear- went out and bot a truk, got the truk home, then the gear arrived. Looked at all the stuff and thot- this aint gonna fit!

Then, after I had designed the sub box & started building it- I opened the hood and saw there is NO place to stuff more batteries! Hmmm- then, I thot, maybe I can put them in the cab- with some trick fuse blocks etc and THEN- the dam subs have a Tripple stack magnet- so used up MORE air space! All in all- at the end- I just made the box WITH the ports- JUST in case, cuz I wouldnt be able to add them later.

I have a 6-way Digital X-over, 128 bands of eq and 8 presets- so I can have a DB preset, an IPOD, a PS2, Sound Q, Radio, bass-head curve etc. all in all I think over 1000 freqs to adjust, 4 processors, and Isolated/Ground/200 ohm, then Balanced OR unbalanced INputs and Bal/Un bal Outputs-13 volt component outputs- I'm gonna have to go back to school just to tune the friggin thing.

SO- while the ports might/probably wont work- well, they'll work, but probably whistle louder than the bass- but hey, IF I can TUNE the whistle- may still take a DB Win! hahaha //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Ok, so Dave sent a whack of pictures and said he is nearly done with the install. Here are some shots of the amplifier "pods" in a rather random order:
