Best subs

Ive owned several subs in my life and although overpriced the w7 was probably my favorite. Ive been looking for another one because to me, they have their own kind of sound which i think sounds good.
Agreed. Impressive output while retaining incredible SQ. price tag ***** tho.
What other subwoofers have you owned? I'm guessing no good ones. W7 are good but **** them for the price. I had 2W7 12"s and 2 1000/1's in a box made by Zeus, the god. It was nice but I was young and a noob. I've made systems three times better for a third the price. It's mostly about the enclosure IMO.

Boston Acoustics, Other JL, Digital Designs, Polk Audio, Rockford,JBL, Alpine, Kicker, Kenwood, Stereo Integrity just to name a few. They all had their strengths and weaknesses. I like the w7, its my opinion. Yeah they are overpriced, but if you can get a good enough deal on one, I think its a great sub.

This right here is about 80% of any system.

You can make a "SPL" driver sound great, you can make a cheap low rms driver get loud. The box and good clean power are more important than the driver itself.

Do good drivers take you a bit further? Yes. Are they entirely necessary? No.

im talking vehicle flex. thats why im adding concrete and a stripper pole on my new build...
You don't need concrete for 1 18. If you do, start with a more sturdy vehicle. Most cases 3 layers of deadner with a small bit of sheet metal will fix any flex problems.

I knew you were talking vehicle flex, I was just rolling with the theme of this thread.

Ah, well I'm working on 8 15s on 10k in a S-10 Blazer. Shop said we'd do fine w/ sheet metal and deadner. Course it will be a demo vehicle, not a comp vehicle so a bit of flex doesn't bug me. I'm not gunning for numbers just want no errant sound.

im not taking chances. and the concrete is going in the bottom of the doors because they have too much flex on the one 18... thats the bish with 2 door ext cabs...

I love watching my car flex. I don't care if it's bad or if I'm losing dbs...I'm tuned low so numbers don't matter to me. I probably get more enjoyment from watching the inside of my car move than the actual bass itself.
