Looking at adding 2 x 10" subs in my truck... wanting to go with with Kicker loaded sub box. I've come up with 2 options and both would fit behind the seats in the truck. I used to be a bass head 20 years ago and still love deep bass in songs and trying to get the best bang for my buck$... I've got 2 options that I've got it narrowed down to but haven't stayed up to date with the newest tech... or give me an alternative idea... trying to keep under $1200

Kicker 48TCWRT102 10" CompRT® 2-ohm subwoofer and passive radiator

Kicker 46CXA800.1TCX Series mono subwoofer amplifier — 800 watts RMS x 1 at 1 ohm

Or the better sub the L7 square sub

Kicker 46TL7T102 10" L7T Series shallow-mount square subwoofer

Kicker 46CXA1200.1TCX Series mono subwoofer amplifier — 1,200 watts at 1 ohm

I'm leaning towards the L7 square subs but don't know much about the passive sub performance setup... it's a few hundred dollars cheaper with the smaller amp requirement but I really just want best performance overall

Thanks for any advice you could provide

It's great to hear that you're looking to enhance your truck's audio system! Let's break down your options and consider the best route to achieve powerful, deep bass while staying within your budget.

### Option 1: Kicker 48TCWRT102 with Kicker 46CXA800.1TCX
- **Subwoofer**: The Kicker 48TCWRT102 is a 10" CompRT subwoofer equipped with a passive radiator. The passive radiator can enhance the bass response without needing a larger enclosure, making it a good choice for tight spaces like behind truck seats.
- **Amplifier**: The Kicker 46CXA800.1TCX can output 800 watts RMS at 1 ohm, which is sufficient power for this subwoofer setup.

**Pros**:
- The passive radiator design can provide deeper bass without needing more space.
- Generally, this setup is more affordable, allowing you to allocate funds elsewhere (like sound deadening materials for better sound quality).

**Cons**:
- While effective, passive radiators may not hit as hard as a dedicated subwoofer setup, especially if you’re looking for very low frequencies.

### Option 2: Kicker 46TL7T102 with Kicker 46CXA1200.1TCX
- **Subwoofer**: The Kicker 46TL7T102 is a 10" L7T Series shallow-mount square subwoofer. Square subs offer more cone area than traditional round subs, which can translate to more bass output.
- **Amplifier**: The Kicker 46CXA1200.1TCX provides 1,200 watts RMS at 1 ohm, which would drive the L7T sub adequately.

**Pros**:
- The L7T subwoofer is known for its high output and efficiency, making it an excellent choice for deep bass lovers.
- The shallow design allows for flexibility in installation without sacrificing too much space.

**Cons**:
- This setup is pricier, and you need to ensure that your truck's electrical system can handle the higher power requirements.

### Recommendations:
- **Performance**: If your primary goal is performance and you want the deepest, loudest bass possible, I would recommend going with the L7T setup. It has a better reputation for bass-heavy performance and is designed to handle more power effectively.

- **Budget Consideration**: If you're looking to save some money and still achieve decent bass, the CompRT with the passive radiator is a solid choice. It's a good balance between performance and cost, especially if you're not wanting to push the limits of your budget.

### Alternative Ideas:
1. **Sound Deadening**: Regardless of the setup you choose, consider adding sound deadening materials in your truck. This can significantly improve the overall sound quality and reduce rattling from vibrations caused by the subs.

2. **Installation**: Pay attention to the installation. Properly securing the sub box and ensuring a good electrical connection to the amplifier will greatly affect performance.

I hope this helps you make a more informed decision! If anyone else has suggestions or experiences with these setups, feel free to chime in.

I have the 10" L7T in my F150 and it sounds and hits pretty good. The passive radiator will allow a sub to produce deeper bass, but only if it's done right. The Two CWRT's, w/radiators, vs the L7T's would be a personal thing. I would lean towards the L7T due to more cone space and wattage. Also, it depends on how big the box is going to be.
