the SI BMK is pretty much the kind of the shallows, 3.2" mounting depth an 14mm xmax iirc.

ad as far as nothing beating jl i almost pissed myself

i didn't say JL was the best sub... i was referring to shallow mount subs. in my experience they sound the best of the other shallows. i don't have any JL's but i would gladly take some W7's....

W7's are great subs, but overly priced. So much better out there for the money. So much

It's not just him and I wouldn't necessarily call it hate. Most people on the board know that JL is overly hyped up and that there is just better equipment out there for half as much. I understand why they have to mark up their equipment so high. Someone has to pay for their insane marketing department.

i dont mind the equipment,

i hate the marketing and the price, they like to say that everything the do is the best of the best and think its ok to charge 4 times what the equipment is worth because of that,

if they actually charged for the equipment, instead of the name then they would have a lot more respect outside of the kids and morons who dont know better.

OP, I voted for the MB Quart 304's earlier in the post. They are great subs and you can get them for around $100 a pop. Great subs, great SQ, great value. The SI BMK's are hard to come by, nearly impossible actually and IF you do find them, be prepared to shell out some serious coin for them. Companies like Kicker, Rockford and JL Audio invest more into marketing than their actual products. This is mainly to say about Kicker; their quality of equipment has gone down significantly over the years. I hate to say it, because I was born and raised by Kicker's Headquarters; Stillwater Designs in Oklahoma. Their CVR's are decent though. Pioneer has never impressed me with their subwoofers. MTX has only a few good products out there, most of their older stuff or their MTX 9500's I would even recommend, but I dont have any experience with thier Shallow Mount subs. The Kenwoods are surprisingly pretty decent.

Know of a pair for sale? Last time I was shopping for SM subs, I searched for 3 months and couldnt find a pair for sale. Thats the deal with subs that are made by one, sometimes two people with a high demand.

I too am looking for a pair of BM's.

and anxiously awaiting the BM MKIV's that should be coming spring/summer hopefully.
