Old system Busted, Ready to invest in new system, Need advice

I use to have 2 Rockford Punch 12 inch subs pushing about 500 watts total. I wanna invest in something completely new from the ground up with about double what I use to have. I would like to aim for a 1000 watts of hard hitting bass. I am open to any and all suggestions and appreciate your time.

This is what I am aiming for preferably:

-2 New 12 inch subwoofers pushing about 500 watts each (Good reliable brand and quality)

-New amp pushing 1000 watts total

-New durable enclosure

-New wiring

-1000 dollar price range or possibly more if need be

I had a vision for a sound system like this a few years back and was told by someone that I would need all sorts of batteries and a new alternator for my vehicle just to power this. Personally I would like to avoid all of that by all means if it is possible. I have already gotten a new battery for my vehicle not too long ago that is pretty efficient and powerful. My vehicle is a 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Right now I have the stock cd player unit and would also like to replace that for something better.

Now I don't know too much about car audio and subwoofers, I was planning on getting some advice and buying all the equipment and taking it to a local shop to install. I just need opinions on what brands and models I should be looking at for new Subs, as well as the Amps that would match well for my price range. I don't really know much about capacitors but if they can help in avoiding buying a bunch of other stuff(like batteries and alternators) then I would be willing to look into that as well. If it would be more beneficial to buy 1 15 inch sub pushing 1000 watts instead of two 12's I would be down for that too. I just want sufficiently more bass that I use to have. No reason you'd need big electrical upgrades to run 1000W class D power provided you have a good quality battery in your factory location.

How much space can you use? What wiring do you have already? Do you mind buying used?

I can say for a head unit it's best to poke around with them hand's on. If you shop online at legit retailers pretty much everything in the major brands of similar price is similar quality and features. Best to pick the one you like the look and feel of.

I can use as much space is necessary in the back trunk area of my Jeep. I'm not actually sure the wiring I have either. I bought it years ago from Best Buy, I think it was Rockford Fosgate brand also. I think it was also meant for up to 800 watts. I don't remember it has been far too long. I also wanted a new enclosure because my old one was starting to fall apart. It was fairly nice but after so much use pieces just broke off and it just doesn't look good anymore. I wouldn't really mind buying used, But I would prefer new. (hopefully from somewhere giving some deals or something)

i can help you with everything for the new system.2 ab 12's with an amp for the subs also components for the frt doors and mids for the rears with an amp to power them also and all the wires dash kit harness ,deck and you wont need an extra battery or cap ,just do the big 3, which i can explain that too.i think i can get you close to your budget.pioneer deck with i phone controls 180,cdt frt components with rear coaxils 200, american bass woofers 300 ,american bass vfl amp for subs and a ab sq amp for speakers , 300 for the american bass vfl 75.1 amp and 210 ab sqa 475 4 channel. the wires i'll give you free and the dash kit and harness as well. so 1320 plus shipping for everything all new with warranties

You can build a nice solid American Bass, Memphis or DC system for your price range no problem.

American Bass TNT subs (600rms 1200peak) roughly $100-$120each

Memphis M3 or C3 subs (500rms 1000peak) roughly $200+

American Bass, Memphis or DC amps are my only options I ever recommend for amps

In reference to mylows post, I just want to focus on the subwoofer equipment right now and work on newer speakers a little further down the line. Anyways So I'm hearing a lot about American bass subs, What exact model subs should I be looking at and which amp would match very well with those subs. If there is a few different options Id be willing to consider each. Also which wiring kit should I get to go with it all and which enclosure would be durable enough. I don't know the best place to buy all this equipment, are these prices for new or used equipment, can someone help me with links to these products on good websites? Thanks for all the responses so fat, I just wanna make sure I do this the right way and come out with a nice system.

Those 2 American bass 12's look good. I looked on eBay and the subs and amp all looks affordable. I don't know anything about amp kits, where should I purchase that? What kit should I get? And also, just to make positively sure, with this set up you listed I would not need to upgrade my cars electrical systems right? If it really came down to it, I could get a new battery. Really 1000 dollars was just a guideline but it doesn't matter if it's a bit more expensive. I am getting about a 1000 dollars a month right now that is just spending money. Also should I get a ported or sealed enclosure? Which sounds better or is it just preference?

You should get the 2012 Type R's and do a review on here. I'm curious... At 1000 rms a pc. they look like they could put in some work!

kickers sound like garbage but if you want spl only they're not bad...mtx i would put in a similar category

a lot of people on this forum hate on JL but 2 12" W3's push out 500w a piece, clean. you can probably find them for about 200 a piece if you look around

You've been shown stuff that is much better than kicker and mtx. I wouldn't even waste my time looking at that stuff when the good stuff can be had for a similar or cheaper price.
