I use to have 2 Rockford Punch 12 inch subs pushing about 500 watts total. I wanna invest in something completely new from the ground up with about double what I use to have. I would like to aim for a 1000 watts of hard hitting bass. I am open to any and all suggestions and appreciate your time.
This is what I am aiming for preferably:
-2 New 12 inch subwoofers pushing about 500 watts each (Good reliable brand and quality)
-New amp pushing 1000 watts total
-New durable enclosure
-New wiring
-1000 dollar price range or possibly more if need be
I had a vision for a sound system like this a few years back and was told by someone that I would need all sorts of batteries and a new alternator for my vehicle just to power this. Personally I would like to avoid all of that by all means if it is possible. I have already gotten a new battery for my vehicle not too long ago that is pretty efficient and powerful. My vehicle is a 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Right now I have the stock cd player unit and would also like to replace that for something better.
Now I don't know too much about car audio and subwoofers, I was planning on getting some advice and buying all the equipment and taking it to a local shop to install. I just need opinions on what brands and models I should be looking at for new Subs, as well as the Amps that would match well for my price range. I don't really know much about capacitors but if they can help in avoiding buying a bunch of other stuff(like batteries and alternators) then I would be willing to look into that as well. If it would be more beneficial to buy 1 15 inch sub pushing 1000 watts instead of two 12's I would be down for that too. I just want sufficiently more bass that I use to have. Thanks for all your help.
