Been a while...

Thanks again for bringing that point up. I did some checking as well and can confirm it does have the 160a alternator. Thats what assumptions will get ya...lol

So, lets take a step back and talk about the most power (rms) that i could run without upgrades to the oem elec system. I still think the Orion xtr 650.1 is gonna be the limit without having dimming issues and blending well with the oem system.

I should also state that i realise eventually the factory speakers are gonna have to be replaced but gonna run factory until a issue comes up...

Oh yeah...Knukonceptz products still good stuff? Got enough 4g wire and fuse block to do the amp install. Think its the older version of the blue Klossus wire.

Thanks again...

On a different note...PSI subs are catching my eye. Thinking a single 12 ported with the xtr 650? Would actually come in under budget and possibly have some room to upgrade the factory 6x9’s. Nothing wrong with the factory 6x9’s just stretching my budget and end up with a extra set of tweeters with the upgraded 6x9’s... ?

There i go assuming again...the factory 6x9’s may be coaix?

my alt is 125a and have no dimming at over 900rms with agm batt with 160 u should be able to do more than the 650 although i'm sure it does 850rms or so..

Yup....KNu is still good. I have been running their stuff for years now. Not a single issue.

What level PSI sub are you looking at?

Thanks.....save a little cash too.

Going with single sub...much difference between 12 and 15 at that level with the Bass line series? 15 bucks difference....just saying

The 15 will definitely be louder. Go with as much cone area as you can since your power is under 1k. Tune the box around 30-32hz for dubstep. Aeroports (round w/flared ends) are the easiest to design around and use. Big Ass Ports and Precision Ports are the best. PSP only goes up to 6in, you'd want 6-8in so maybe check out Big Ass Ports.

upgrade from 600-750 watt and get the 8ga leads. u could get 1k amp with that sub but like he said it's a very light cone should move great with that xtr650

Thanks. Been doing some box calculations and this is where im at for the PSI Bass-line 15.

36.5x20x16.6 / internal will be 35x18.5x15=9712.5/1728=5.62-.13 (sub disp)=5.49cuft

Calling for a 6” port 12.03” long. Thats using the Precision Ports calculator. See any problems there?

Also, what dictates to tune 30-32 hz?

I don't think you need to go quite that big, I would scale it back to 4.75-5cf. That range will help with efficiency and the low power. If the box is too large you can reach mechanical limits on less than rms power and damage the sub.

I use the calculators on the12v: https://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/boxcalcs.asp

According to that calc 12" long will put you closer to 29hz with 5.49cf

The tune of the port is a function of the area and length in relation to the volume of the box. The larger the port area (bigger opening) the longer the port needs to be to maintain the same tune freq. For example 4cf @30hz needs 6x16.77 port or 8x31.77 port.

Thanks...liking the 5cf better. Will let me cut back on the depth some.

Was going off of the max rec box size but I see now that is for the upper limits of recommendations..

Well, got everything ordered. Went with the Orion 650 and PSI bass line 15 (had to upgrade power to get the dual 2 ohm option). Also, got the Audiocontrol Lc2i for the LOC. Anybody have any experience with the Lc2i?

Appreciate all the help...

Oh yeah, thanks Jeep for putting a rubber grommet in the firewall...made the power run so much easier.
