Any tips on buying a RC car?

watch out for parking curb's.. they come up fast and do allot of damadge...
SH1T tell me about it.... once I was at a grocery stores parking lot around 1:00am and was testing out the the street tires I got. I was doing drag style runs in a straight line and my 3rd run the car got out of range and was stuck full throttle heading right twards a group of cars with people standing outside of them at an incrediable rate of speed, whinning it's 20,000 rpm OS .18 tz turbo motor, it missied the crowd by a couple feet and conituned across the street directly into the drive through of taco bell, i lost vision of it, but it must have clipped the curb and fliped over landing right in front of the large menu where you order food, while still revving hella loud.

All the Taco bell employees where outside looking at it. It was hella funny that it ended up where it did, but cost me a few $$ to replace the front suspension and control arms.

i never messed any of my cars up to bad...mostly just had to replace servo gears, the main gear and a shock....

the first time we took my dads car to the track though we got there to early so he drove it on the onroad course out front and ended up driving it into a piece of pvc pipe that was sticking out at full speed..he had to replace the whole right frond end...

Welp here it is:

Went in Hobby shop....seen a box for Revo...it was yellow.....asked "You got this in black"....."Ill take it"

Bought all he said that i needed...some fuel...(looks like 20%), a glow plug for after break-in, batteries, some battery pack, and after run oil

Anything else?

swap out the plastic spur gear with a metal one after the plastic one breaks, replace the stearing servos with 1 good servo and get the metal servo arm to do this. if you start to run into universal shaft issues (will start to happen as the boots wear) you can go with the MIP ones to bring it more on par with the other vehicles. i would have bought more glow plugs as a general rule the "break in plug" will get fowled from a rich engine which is nt to good to keep around after a couple days running after break in is complete

shouldnt take much more than an hour to get to the point of being able to start beating on it a little bit. 2 or three tank fulls at idle lasts maybe 20 minutes they cool down in 10 to 15 minutes...
