Any tips on buying a RC car?

Mann...this break-in is gonna take forever.....ima see if i can pay them dudes at the shop to do it...i dont have time or space:(
Break-in doesnt take that long. You just have to do a few runs back and forth at a specific throttle level and run a few tanks through it. Give yourself an hour or two and you'll be tearin shit up in no time. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

first 2 tanks though i would just let it idle rich. if you have a heat gun warm the head up a tad before you start it. btw did you buy a temp gun?

No....should i?

Guy says follow the book....says like 1/4 throttle for first tank, 1/2 next....etc

Like 5 tanks it says.....think i should buy more glow plugs for that?

follow the book...

idling for break-in causes premature wear. Whatever you do, do not get anxious and start gunning the throttle to see how fast it will go. take your time with break-in and you will run many gallons of fuel through that engine before a rebuild is needed.

pre-heating the head is a good practice with new engines. break-in will take way more than 5 tanks but you can start gassing around after 5.

yup and you really dont want to start letting it rip til you have 2/3 to 3/4 of a gallon on it. as the sleeve loosens up you have a far less chance of breaking a con rod.

I love not reading and just asking on here....haha...let me go see:D
You have batts for the controller, and on the truck but stock the truck probably has a double a pack. But there should be a "Easy Start" controller thingy that plugs into the back and it turns the motor over.

i have 4 RB engines 1 rb C6, 1 s7 1 sw7iii and a c6BT. you heat up the head before you start it so the sleeve loosens up. settings from the factory the engine should be running rich. you start up a cold engine you need to rev it to heat it up thing is its on a TIGHT(cold sleeve) so are you trying to say that that will give less wear? i never cold start an engine unless it is like 90 outside not for the first gallon at least. thing is though traxxas will void your engine warranty if you do it a different way (and say so) than the book..so stick to that

this is the way i do mine and after 2 gallons on my c6 it still has pinch (which means its not wore) vs the 2.5 traxxas i have which has no pinch just compression with barely a gallon on it.
