Am I pushing my sub too hard?? *Vid*

Sounds like something is hitting the cone. The maker of the sub said it is 1000w RMS and I'm only pushing it 800w. I told him I thought it was the wires going from the terminals to the center of the cone and he told me to cushion it and I did and it still does the same problem. Anyone have any input?

Anyone have any ideas on how to fix it.. I've gave it more cushion and I even tried zip Tie-ing the wires down to the opposite side.

make sure you give them room to move

They are zip tied down right now but it still didn't fix the problem.. Maybe ill just take it back to the maker and have him fix it before I f*ck things up.

definatly sounds like the dustcap

see if that round black 1\2 dome thing in the center is loose at all where the dark glue connects to it.

turn it down, put slite pressure on the dust cap, if it stops, then the dustcap has come unglued go to wal mart and get some clear silicone spread some all the way around the edge let it dry then pound it

my old sub sounded like that......it happeded to be up aginst the back seat and a head rest and that what was vibrating.....also make sure nothing is loose inside the box

did you take the sub out and play it free air? take the sub out, play it, and see where the sound is coming from. careful on the volume when doing this though.
