Am I expecting too much

I. Wondering if it does have a crossover buikt into tge outputs on the tuner's amp. Some dumb ***** do it to clean up midrange in factory system.
Heck on some vehicles depending on the speed, not only will the volume change but the eq curve as well and you will have to use a piece that will effectively detune the system first.....

Ok just to clarify the sub does hit if I play the right songs.. that's what I'm wondering if I just expected to much but from my understanding with that sub and amp I should get some decent shaking from it. I don't want to go back and complain if everything is right

And the did crossover my tweeters into my front doors they said but that's on a different channel that shouldn't affect channel 5 if that's on channel one should it?? Sorry guys I'm kind of new to all this

However the box isnt the cause for super weak bass, its the signal line. this is the most common issue on this site recently. People thinking its fine to just keep the stock head unit and using an LOC cheap or some overpriced audiocontrol all the same garbage results. Its not fine and you need to really get a proper signal in order for everything to work out fine. People severely underestimate the power of a good signal. It makes or breaks a system easily. Easily 90% system performance loss with a poor signal.

@Zackster @Chrisrizzy Yeah you guys all trying to use LOCs, hope you guys learn something.[/QUOTE]

Thanks for the mention, it was definitely worth reading through this thread. I can't afford to do a hu install on my car (it's a very big and expensive pain in the TL) and I can't afford a full on sound processor (I'm in college after all). Trust me, ik the LC7i is far from optimal, but I gotta make the best of what I have. Gary's advice to sum the channels was helpful and I'll make sure that is done. Trust me, if I wasn't in college and had a decent paying job, it would be different lol.

Don't worry though, I hired John Kuthe's installer guy off of Craigslist to finish the install ;)

Have the shop retune your gains. Show them the songs that dont hit well.

I concur with the others. There is something wrong with the input signal. Assuming that they wired it correctly inside the box which would be Dual 2 ohm = 1ohm or 4 ohm load on the amp. That would also be an issue. a 4 ohm load with a ****** input signal would definitely cause for ****** bass output. If they are using a LOC (Line output converter) they do need to consider factory stereo equalization degradation in low frequency ranges. They do that to save from blowing factory speakers. That prefab box is ok for now. but custom would be better. You have more than enough power for that sub.

Yea it's definately wired at 1 ohm and as far as the factory speakers they sounded pretty **** good factory even on the low end would hit pretty good and leave my mirrors shaking.. the highs came out amazing and it sounds super clean by comparison. It sounds really good I just expected more boom.. I'm gonna try retuning I think it can be tuned better

Post a pic of the amp settings before you mess with them

That sub is similar to the sq hds212. 1k should have it wanging, especially if you had modest expectations being away from audio for a while.

That box might ****, but i also believe its signal

These are what they set them at
