5 @ 22hz HT sub build log

Yes, if you change the spacing, it will effect the radius of the flare. BUT, 10 cuts, 1/2" apart will give you a PERFECT 3.5" radius flare. Perfect meaning 90*
And yes, I would suggest making all the relief cuts touch, otherwise there isnt much material there structurally...
unless you glazz it on the back side //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

Pictures with the grill on? Looks good though, but 5cubes seem pretty **** big.
I would have liked to go a little larger but my friend didn't want that. It is pretty **** big sitting here in my room; I hope he doesn't mind it too much.

I can't mount the grill yet as I haven't installed the hardware. I am letting the paint fully cure before doing that. Right now I'm test driving it to make sure there are no issues anywhere and really, I have yet to find any. It sounds excellent on music and it's very laid back. It actually matches my computer setup very well. The response seems to be very flat down to 30hz if not lower but I'll have to bust out my ghetto meter to really see. I'm not to sure how accurate it is though.

wow. looking good bro!
more and more impressed, as the thread progresses.
Me too actually haha.

Metered them quickly with my Radio Shack meter and this is what I found:

Down 3dB at 30hz in my room and down 6dB around 23hz. That's not too bad at all given my room (I have some issues around 70hz and below 30hz). It's pretty flat across the board and I'm happy with the sound on movies as well. The transient response is a little iffy. On tracks like Quo Vadis - On the Shores of Ithaca, the double bass gets a little sloppy and not as tight as I'm used to. It's not terrible but it could be better. On songs like Don Henley - Sunset Grill, the bass is punchy and right on call and very full.

They are also handling the 240w amp with much more composure than I was expecting.
