I'm building an enclosure for my two eD EHQS 8s. This is for a friend of mine as a Christmas gift to him and his family.

Below is the design:

They will be powered by a Dayton 240w plate amp. There will also be a front cloth grill.

The cuts:

I ****ed up on one cut so I had to go buy another piece of MDF (just a 2'x4' piece). It was the top so I began construction last night after it got dark.

Painting the port semi-gloss black.

The final paint will be the Rustoleum hammered black paint. It's just easier to paint the port before construction.

Look at this terrible weather I am being faced with:

It's been low 70s, bright and sunny, the past few days. This is just not a livable environment!

More pictures to come as I finish it up.

Inner baffle with the sub mounting holes cut out:

It's a perfect fit at 7" diameter.

I had to ghetto rig a guide for a circular saw to cut off the trim piece. I was going to use the router but I don't trust it and it would have been much more difficult. This cut like butter and was perfectly flush. I would use this over a flush trim bit (which I don't have but have used) any day... at least for pieces that are off by more than 1/4".

I want your table saw!!!!I was looking at that one I like the sliding miter and router setup. How do you like it?
x2. Seems like getting a square cut would be a total *****. I've heard of (and experienced) the "iffyness" of Craftsman fences.

This was the only Craftsman I could find that didn't have the extending rails. It's the only fence that didn't move when I shook on it. The rails can slide but they lock in place very securely and I had no problems with dead on square cuts with factory settings. It cuts very well and is pretty sturdy but not the most sturdy table saw I've used so I still brace it down with sand bags. The adjustable miter table and router tables are really nice and useful to get support where you need it without taking up a ton of room.

It's not very compact but it's pretty **** usable and I enjoy it better than some other saws that I have used.

I'll get more pics up tomorrow when I get some more stuff done on it.

your a good friend...haha
So is he. His family treats me as one of their own and he also has a daughter I would like to date!

Pics are updated in the second post and I'm about to work on the sub cutout. I am going to cut the outer holes first and then put the double baffle panel on back and I can center it from there. That way everything will line up correctly.

I'm going to have to make a new router jig and try to get my old ghetto router to work. I would borrow a friend's router but he is in the hospital (not the guy I'm building this for).

Pics of the daughter?

Also, your design shows a double baffle, been waiting to see you double baffle that rounded port wall. Still waiting to see how you are gonna do it. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Lookin good so far man.

wouldnt be hard... just two kerfed pieces and a shitload of woodglue //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

looking ****ing sexy!

I'll get some more pics of the saw in a little bit. The model number of the saw is 21829. For $350, it's not a bad deal at all for just making some boxes and as a makeshift work table. The set comes with the adapter set for the router table and a few push blocks (that are too wide and annoying; I use scrap wood instead).

For the double baffle, I am using a piece of wood that extends just to where the kerfing starts. This piece attaches from behind and is more for flush mounting than any type of bracing. Once it dries in place, I'll put a little bracing in it but I really doubt it needs it. These are the cheap *** eD 8s we're talking about!

Pics updated in post 2.

I sanded the inside of the circles and I have the baffles drying right now. The router burned the wood at only the start of the circle which is pretty impressive since it's an old and rusted straight cut bit on a router that is held together by magic dust; seriously, there are screws missing on it and it scares the shit out of me while using it.
