4ohm to 2ohm??

i have 2 kicker l7's and i was wan to wire them from 4ohms to 2 ohms. can i do it or should i leave them alone??

cannot do it. if there at 4 ohms now, you can only rewire them to 1 ohm. and 2 ohms can only be rewired to either .5 ohms or 8 ohms

You can wire each sub up to 2 ohm using parallel wiring but can your amp handle a 1ohm load then?

If you have 2 D4 subs, you need an amp that will power them at either 4 ohms or 1 ohm

im using a sundown 1500 with two kicker 4 ohm cvx's wired to 1 ohm. it SLAMS! thats what I would do, get a good 1 ohm stable amp. gonna be hard to find an amp that puts out that much power at 4 ohms.

wire the coils parallel. then wire them parallel outside of the boxes. so you have 2 coils. put some wire between the pos of the first coil, to the pos of the second coil. do the same for the negative. then run a wire from the pos of the first coil, and teh neg of the second coil to your speaker terminals. do this for both speakers (both boxes) then just wire them parallel from the speaker terminals to the amp.

Voila, you have a 1 ohm load with 2 D4 subs!
