I've been in MI before for work, like Battle Creek, Marshall, Detroit, Saginaw, etc. I rented a Chrysler for my trip to Detroit - figured it'd be poor form to roll in a Honda. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gifWow, that's a lot of miles in two years! If you're ever driving through West Michigan I'd love a demo. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I'm thinking door deadening is next along with running active in my accord. Thanks for sharing all this great build info!
Haha, smart man in Detroit. My wife's family over on the Detroit side have a long history with Ford... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I'm in Grand Rapids, plenty of imports around here!I've been in MI before for work, like Battle Creek, Marshall, Detroit, Saginaw, etc. I rented a Chrysler for my trip to Detroit - figured it'd be poor form to roll in a Honda. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
Got a build log for your Accord?
You can visit Indiana and Ohio for competitions. There is a Facebook group for Indiana Sound Quality that is very active.Haha, smart man in Detroit. I'm trying to watch for sq events around here so I can hear what a competition level build sounds like compared to my entry level work in progress without deadening. I'm thinking when I take my doors apart next to finish my new active wiring it would be a good time to deaden at least inside the door while I have the speaker out...
I just finally started a build log last week, i'm posting some of the older stuff first and getting up to where I am now, so it's a little disjointed. http://diymobileaudio.com/forum/showthread.php?t=272658
cool! I'm interested to see how this swap goes for you. i thought the premium models had higher resolution on the upper screen too, hopefully that's plug and play too... did you buy new, or find it used somewhere?i'm super stoked about the next upgrade: swapping the stock with the premium touch screen. this will give me a clean, flat output without the internal DSP of the current stock unit... all while keeping full stock functionality with cameras and info screen.
I bought it as a salvage unit.cool! I'm interested to see how this swap goes for you. i thought the premium models had higher resolution on the upper screen too, hopefully that's plug and play too... did you buy new, or find it used somewhere?
Thanks! I built the harness maps on excel and stitched the schematics together so they are a single image. I wanted to share as much info as possible for others to attempt the same.wow, that is an incredible amount of info you've compiled! so will you be using preamp outs now, or still speaker level but with dsp disabled?
No. No modules. I ordered a $7 antenna adapter for my DVA-9861 and will use that HU for FM. I don't care about XM. my main concern is BT capability since I don't have the external HFL unit. If you compare the schematics you see the base unit has steering wheel HFL controls wired directly and the premium unit has them wired external.KHA, did you get the modules (FM tuner, Bluetooth, XM) with it as well?

if need be, to regain BT function, that will be the process, but i'll need one with harnesses cut off so i can extend wiring - i wont' have the harnesses necessary to just buy a lone unit. i may be able to reach out to a few of the sellers with wrecked cars. Those hfl units are not that expensive on eBay. I'd look around for one
