2006 Lincoln LS install

Man, bracing something like that in a hatch would be a nightmare. It'd be cool as hell if you can pull it off, though.
As this thread clearly shows, I don't have the patience for work of that nature. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I tried working with fiberglass once and completely lost interest after about 2 solid days of sanding, sweeping and vacuuming...
I'm thinking making my own rear deck lid with mdf, FG, vinyl. we'll see.

The LS officially has beat...and it's quite impressive. The DC is pretty musical and and T152S' hold up their end of the deal just fine. I'm finally starting to feel a little pride. It was already dark once I fired up the Level 4 & PAI-1000.1, so pics of the trunk will come tomorrow...no excuses. Work is getting done NOW!

There are 3 areas of bracing within the enclosure (in between the ports and on either side of the sub). I decided to ditch the polyester batting idea because it really was a waste of time. Guy's, this setup sounds impressive considering it's only a single 15" on 1,000 watts. Everything's coming together nicely at this point and I can't wait to pretty things up in the trunk.

I wish I had a better camera. These pics are doing the enclosure no justice. The only real flaws that're noticeable in person are the holes from the nail gun. I probably should've used a bit of filler on them, but I figured the second baffle, a layer of padding and the vinyl would cover the ugly pretty well.

Anyways, we'll probably paint the ports flat black just to break things up a bit. I may even see what silver looks like, because it would be nice for something to match the DC logo on the sub.

More tomorrow. Thanks for looking. By the way, the enclosure is 3.5 cubes @ 34Hz...

new pics:

I haven't posted any pics of the vehicle's interior since everything was put back together, so here goes.

And here's a few looks at the trunk. Keep in mind, there's still a lot to do back here. I just figured we could throw in the enclosure so the owner can have bass.

The amps are NOT going to stay on the seat backs permanently. Mounting them there is better than letting them slide around in the trunk.

The DC Level 4 is no joke and the T152S' are nice components. This setup has a ton of output and it's crystal clear. I'm very impressed. Too bad the owner didn't show up for work over the weekend, because it could've been finished by now. Oh well. He leaves for work tomorrow, so it'll have to wait until the beginning of June...

quit talking to yourself. quit hitting yourself. box looks great
It's just so damn goofy lookin', man.

I'll feel a hell of a lot better once the floor goes in and the amps & crossovers get mounted. I am seriously impressed with the performance, though. That goofy ass box sounds awesome. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Sick! I stopped checkign here cuz of no updates, but now it looks like it is moving along nicely!

I am excited to see finished results with the trunk!

How is the trunk rattles btw with the sub firing up and all? Is the decklid deadened as well?

Well, the owner left for another 4 week stretch this morning. That means I won't even see the vehicle again until the beginning of June. I asked him to leave it with me, but he had to drive it to Paducah to meet up with his crew.

There's a little bit of rattling at high volumes, but that's to be expected. I've found that it's **** near impossible to completely eliminate deck lid rattling. But yeah, the deck lid is deadened. In fact, everything in this vehicle is deadened. The doors & trunk have Dynamat Xtreme and the floor has lux liner pro. I guess we could deaden the roof too, but I don't think it's necessary. Maybe I'll do it anyway. Dude has mentioned reupholstering the healiner a couple times. If I have to take it out anyway, might as well throw on a layer of Dynamat...

One solid day of work would have this completed once and for all, but the owner has been MIA since coming home from work on June 1st. Surely he'll want the damn thing finished this month.

If it's already playing, I am sure he is no in rush lol
The owner finally stopped by today. He has to work at his step dad's UPS store Wed - Fri and he's going to Cincy over the weekend. I took a bunch of measurements in the trunk and I'll most likely do some cuts over the weekend. This thing should be 90% complete by monday at the very latest. I say 90% because I'm going to try to talk him into buying some plexi to invert the amplifiers. I think that'd be for the best, but he may not go for it.

I burned a chopped & screwed cd and took the LS for a spin this afternoon. At high volumes the bass is overwheming the front stage, but that's only when you're really pushing the limits of the equipment. If it were my vehicle, I'd move the comps in the rear doors to some kick panels. I think that'd solve the problem, but I really don't want to be bothered with the extra work at this point. Maybe I'll do it when I start building in my Dakota. I plan on tackling some fiberglass work in my ride, so doing his kicks would be nice for practice.
