I'm looking to upgrade my stock HU w/LOC's to a "Real" car stereo. I currently want to run an active 3way system with Sub,Mid,Tweeter, with the option to go 4way down the road Sub,Midbass,Midrange,Tweeter.

Are there any HU's out there that have the capability to do this?

Also, does anybody make a HU with a bandpass active crossover?

So I can run for example: My door Midbass being crossed from 70hz on the bottom and 250hz on the top, Midrange 250hz-3500hz ,Tweets 3500-15000hz and Sub crossed at say 70hz and below. Basicaly eventually I want to run Subs and an active 3way door setup.

I hope there is a HU out there for me. I don't want use a bitone or 360 if I don't have to

Thanks for all input and opinions

There are several head units that have 6 channel outputs with crossovers that will low pass the sub, bandpass the mid, and high pass the tweeter, usually in 1/3 oct steps and some with selectable slopes. I do just that with my Alpine 9887.

I haven't ran across head units with 8 channel outputs besides the Pioneer DEX-99RS.

Typically, For 8 channels you need an external processor. Alpine, JBL, Audison, Pioneer all make a good 8 ch processor that lets you do an active 3-way front + sub.

You can still do an active 3-way front + sub with a 6 channel HU, but you need additional crossovers in the amps that give you the additional channels.

Like was said only a couple decks offer that and oh pay a pretty penny to own one...
Yep! I'm also looking at the 7000 or 7100 or possibly alpine just because it seems they will be easier to come by. The Eclipse's seem to be more sought after.
