1Ohm or 2Ohm Sub

I wanted to know which is better to get.

The sub i'm looking at is a Single 12" Fi Q.

Is it better to go witht he 1 or 2 ohm sub?

What kind of amp do you amp?

I havent bought the amp yet. But wasnt clear on which sub is better(if there is a difference).

But, I'm looking to get the Massive audio P1000.1 or Memphis 1000d. But this isnt set in stone, just dont want to spend more than $250 on the amp.

You'll get the most power out of the sub if you get the sub capable of running at 1-ohm. Both those amps are capable of running at 1ohm. So it looks like that answers your question.

If your getting an amp that does full power at 1ohm...get a Dual 2ohm sub. If your getting an amp that does full power at 2ohms....get a Dual 1ohm sub.

I would get the dual 2 ohm, and run the amp (that you purchase) at 1 ohm.

If you want to add a second sub, and the amp you get is .5 stable, then adding a second dual 2 ohm will drop it to .5

If you haven't bought the amp yet, you might want to play around with modeling the response of the two subs with somehing like WinISD. They have different parameters and the dual 1 ohm actually wants a bigger box to perform well from what I've been able to tell.
