18'' Xcon or 15'' Fi BTL sub?

Was lookin at the price at the xcon and they havin a special

SSA Xcon 18" Sub woofer1750rms 31mm Xmax

299. guessing would be 350 total.

but i got a new deal. a 15'' fully loaded Fi Btl sub for 275 obo. lookin to get around 240. maybe.

what would you guys choose? got 1500 watts real power. tell me what you think

And the craigslist link you posted is for a BL, not a BTL. Xcon > BL, 18" > 15", new > used, warranty > no warranty...easy decision.

Two totally different subs. The BTL and the Xcon are meant for two entirely different things. Figure out more about what you want from your install, set your goal, then come back and focus on which item to choose. The BTL is a high output monster with some nice cooling tech, the Xcon is an SQ sub woofer with higher then average power handling and a bunch of xmax.

Kinda, IMO the Xcon is superior in nearly every way, whereas the BTL would have a somewhat clear spl advantage in most cases. But the BL is somewhat more of a spl driver than the Xcon.

It is funny, as I point numerous people to the BTL (when speaking about the Xcon) and the BL (when speaking about the Icon) as when we finally get down to their goals and needs, in many cases Xcon is not the best choice for them. There is the perception of if a driver has high power handling and high xmax it must be SPL.
