$1500 + wasted??? need urgent help plz!

well if you would goto http://www.spldynamics.fl and look at them, the ext-3000d is there best line of amps, and the only one on the site that tops it is the ext-4000d I blieve. The amp was bought straigt from the factory, and with shipping and handiling from accross the sea was about 1800. If you can find it cheaper please show me a link, also make sure to translate the currency from whatever it is into us dollars!!

Either way its not my amp, so I dont care all that much about it. I was just looking for advice to see if its probolly toasted or not.

Almost any one knows that a gain is not a volume noob, but tell this to my friend that installed the amp, he will swear back and forth with you on that all day!

Also according to him, you cant wire a 4 ohm dvc up in parralle for a 2 ohm load at the amp, or vice versa wiring it in series for a 8 ohm load at the amp. I dont know if i said this before or not, but he thinks he knows everything because his family use to own a skating rink, and he thinks that club audio and car audio are pretty much the same, and that it is ok if you are clipping your amps out in a club setting, so it should be ok to do the same with car audio.

disreguard about the amp pricing thing. So this vfl is a different company making the same amp or what? kinda likd a digitial designs and audio que thing or what? never heard of vfl.

Do they do the same power at the same wattage and ohms?

so its the same exact thing, and 3000 watts rms at 1 ohm with 16.5 volts?

Im not finding no info on the 200.1 amp from the site, so I am clueless on the specs. There has to be something major with these 2 amps that make the vfl cost so much less.

Thats why I compared Digital Designs with Audio Que, its sister company. Which are almost the same subs, but your getting a different basket, a smaller magnet, and different spider etc, with no where near all mod and coil options.

Another thing im kinda curious about, can the spl dynamics handle daily driver abuse? or is this amp just ment for burping. This way I can relay the info on to my friend. And if there the same as the vfl's, Im going to assume the same.

If you know a website with the vfl 200.1 specs on it, please link me.

Thanks

It costs less because

Its not being shipped overseas....

the AB website does not have the info on it, but rest assured, they sell it.

It does 3000w at 14.4v, as does the SPl, not 16.5

They are exactly the same

well thats just f**king crazy... wow... I cant believe that... so much cheaper... hahaha... guess he should of searched the net some more before buying it... and the fact that it makes it power at such less wattage... pure pwnage...

Thanks for that info tho... wow... im just speechless... oh well... maybe he will have better luck with the spl dynamics once he gets his 9515 with dual 1.75 coils back with the blinging triple stack...

i could be wrong but shouldnt u have run each sub in parallel for a 2 ohm load on each sub then ran the two 2 ohm's in parallel to get a final 1 ohm load and came out with only one set of +,- to the amp @ 1 ohm

The subs are both wired in parallel. Thats why I asked if the two positives are connected internally to each other, same with the negitives. Which they are from what the responses where. So its kinda nice that if you are using two 4 ohm dvc subs you can run say 8 guage from your amp to your subs when your trying to get every .1 db. Then your not trying to cram 2 big wires in one small hole on the amp. Otherwise i was thinking that the amp was only running at 2 ohms a sub in like stereo, but the amp is pre bridged, but say a normal class a/b amp or any two channel the amp would be at 2 ohm stereo from the drawing above looking at it.
