Ok i posted earlier about florida heat being a *****, but now i think i have a serious problem. my amp (phoenix gold octane R15.0:1) finally cooled down cuz i unhooked it n brought it into my house for airconditioning. i put the wires back up and the amp doesnt turn on. i used a dmm to check tha current and voltage and everything is fine, the only thing is that there is nothing coming out of tha speaker outs voltage/current wise. i dont kno what seems to be the problem. i thought it was an overheating problem. but it might not be, can anyone help me? asap plz cuz i gotta go out soon.

btw im running 2 alum12q's on it. wired each sub to 3 ohms, theres 2 speaker outs even tho its a mono so i just wired them like a 2 channel. the amp is running off 5 awg wire. the ground is fine, and nothing else seems to be wrong, the subs arent blown because they dont move period and they were working fine. can anyone plz help me?

oh yea, and i opened the amp up to check for anything burnt inside, the whole setup is clean and looks new, nothing was messed up sooo i have no clue.... hopefully one of u guys can help me

yea it had 12.8 volts goin into the amp and the bass boost was turned up a little less than half way, nothin too big so i dunno, it cooled down, but it wouldnt turn on again so i dunno whats wrong..... ima try n work it today again

yea i think so, but when i opened the amp up and checked the circuit board, everything seemed perfectly fine, i couldnt see anyting wrong wit it i dunno, i got a feeling its in protection mode, but it shoulda came out, i dunno, ima have to end up gettin a new one then, guess i better start lookin.......

im confused.
Pretty sure he means that he checked the REM line and the power fromt he battery, (I hope he means that.)

If there is nothing visually wrong with any compents in the amp, then it SHOULD not be fried. Check the underside of the board and all, carefully. If you see ANY black marks at all on the board or any components, replace the part. Also, once you get it working again, make sure that you do not use the bass boost at all. And is the amp even turning on?

no the amp doesnt even turn on, thats the problem im having, i checked the board, everything is clean, no marks or nothin, i did have the bass boost up halfway, but it was fine... oh yea n btw when i said i checkd things wit the dmm, i was checkin to see if there was current/voltage goin into the amp to give it power... but it just wont turn on, power is fine it just wont turn on...... =(

One question, pertaining to why it might have shut off in the first place, did you turn the bass boost on before or after setting your gains? I know i made the stupid mistake of turning the boost up after i set the gains //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif .
