my friend has a autotek 1400.1 amp that he isn't using, been sitting in his closet for like 4 years, i asked him how much he wanted for it, he said i could have it, free.
so now i'm in the market for a single 15" sub to hook to the amp.
he was running the amp before, but it overheated and broke, it was under warranty, so he got a new one, which is this one, he never hooked it up, so it's new in the box still.
i figure since it was overheating, i don't want to run it at 1 ohm, so either 2 ohm which is 1000w, or 4 ohm which will give the sub 650.
i'm open to suggestions on which sub to get. my budget is around 200 bucks. i honestly know the difference between sq and spl, but i've never heard it. i like loud, deep bass.
i searched around a little bit, i can get a re se-x which is 600w rms for $180, so i can give that 650 at 4 ohm. or a re sxx which is 1000w rms for $250 and give that 1000w at 2 ohm. i can also get a alpine type r for $200, which is 750w rms.
whatchu guise think?
