Hey, I was looking for some advice from some people on how to hit the low - mid 150s' db with a 1 15" sub, powered by a JBL1200.1 in a good ported box, in a 1995 Ford Taurus Trunk. Is this possible? Could it be done with a L7 15" square kicker????

Audiobahn FLAME Q 15" ??? 1300W RMS???

advice please //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

thanks

im not sure if its really possible to get 150 out of one 15...150 is hard for alot of people to hit w/ more than one sub.....but im not going to say it isnt...it all depends on the install...hope you have alot of room to port the box....good luck

i would recomend a dd9515(ddaudio.com), or a shocker x-treme II(shockeraudio.com), but you probably wouldn't be able to do it unless you wanted to make a very very big box. if this is for an everyday driver...i think you'd be wasting your time

yeah that's a very hard # to hit in that car i'd be almost gutsy enough to say not possible to ya buddy. not being in a trunk, now if you had a truck, or SUV or hatchback then i'd say yeah it's possible. if you want something that will do it though take big_cat's suggestion go with something like a DD9515, Juggy, Shocker Xtreme any of those will get you more SPL than your audiobahns.

lcpunk - Give your box specs that you have your 15" L5 in - or those pictures you sent me....

I agree - I know you want "head spinning not being able to concentrate eyes popping out of your head bass" so look @ the subs listed above and also the RE XXX series.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

- Maybe some guys (audiolife?) on here might be able to help you get the absolute most out of your L5...

I saw an L7 15" hit a 150-151, but it was in a huge ported box and I believe the guy had 2 bd1000.1's. It was a legitimate dash reading and if I remember correctly I believe they were using a Linear X. He put a lot of time into his car, his setup wasn't a one day job, I could almost guarantee he spent a month or two just by looking at what he had done to the interior of the car to enhance it's acoustics. If your thinking you can just slap a 15" in a ported box and get a 150, it's not going to happen.

marshall (aka black00 or black) hit 150.3. in his s10 with a single brahma 15 and about 1000 watts...so it it is a perfectly attainable goal...you just gotta plan and install right.

It can be done, not a problem. The only thing that is really holding you back is a trunk. possibly if you can take the back seat out for comps and have the sub firing in the cab of the car with lots o' port space. But still i would bet you would need more power and it would on be on burps. But the trunk is holding you back.

Nismo what size box did he use and was it crew cab or single???

Adire adio website:

1 12" brahma, in a 1 cube ft. sealed enc. in the back of a buick grandnational.. i think it was 150 dbs.. maybe 140.. most likely 150. can't remember how many watts.. it was def around 1200-1500.

6.6 cubes tuned to about 53 hz... in an x-cab s10. 2 dei 1100d's strapped.

iirc, it was 140. the chances of doing 150 with a sealed box and single sub are SLIM. btw, it was sandt38...cant remember his name off hand tho.

Well I got the L5 15" in about 4.2cubic feet slot ported box. Maybe if I stuff the hell out of with polyfill from the port??? what If I Put the box in my backseat and had it facing the front??? would that be tons louder??????????? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

That would mean he was doing 155-160 on a regular mic with one L7 probably not.
