1 15" Sub for my Caddy...

I want to add a 15" sub to my caddillac CTSV. I do have one problem though. I have no intentions of upgrading the power in the car.

So any suggestions on a sub and amp that will work with factory power?

15"inch type R and hifonics 1606 amp

In my other vehicle i have a 15" RE SX off a Cadence ZRS-8 w/ little dimming w/ no electrical upgrades.

most amps around 1500 watts would be ok without major electrical upgrades beyond the big 3.... as for subs, hell anything would be ok like FI, RD audio, Massive CW, Memphis M3, alpine ARGGGGGGGHHHH

Wow I remember us all upgrading to H.O. alts 'back in the day' when we'd set up like a 750 watt stereo (full system). Now we recommend 1500 watt sub amps with only minor wiring upgrades. I should hook one of my tamtrum 1200.1's up to my daily driver and see what happens.

Yeah... this is my DD. I drive my lifted truck on wknds and just finished that system with 3 8s. Made me realize how much I missed having a system, so now I want to put a sub in my Caddy that I drive every day.

I was thinking about an Fi 15" sub, but I wasnt real sure what I should run for power to it.

Thats actually the exact setup I thought of when I was considering a system for my Caddy...

Why dont you want to do power upgrades? It isn't that expensive/difficult to do the big 3 or even upgrade your front battery.

might look into the new SSA Icons. Throw one on about 750w-1000w and you should be good. If you're interested in an efficient amp, I have an Orion XTR Pro 1000 (Good for around 1200-1300w RMS) I'd let go for $250 shipped. Thing is very efficient. Previous owner had it in a jeep with nothing but an Optima Red Top and no dimming. Let me know
