Alpine... Not the Old, but the New

Has anyone heard the new (not old) Alpine type S subs (shallow mount) http://www.hookedontronics.com/show_product_details.jsp?cid=40503&c=0706PriceGrabber&b=Alpine_SWS-1043D . Are they an improvement to the old type S subs.

I will be getting (2) ID8 v.3 subs http://www.cardomain.com/item/IDSID8V3D2 . Do you think that they will out perform one Alpine type S subs?

i've herd that new S in a truck my friend has. its was a 12 and its pretty loud, hits lows, and sounds great for the price.

i dont know about it out performing ID though
