Featured 2023 Chevrolet Colorado Trail Boss

So my ADD kicked in last night and I couldn’t go to sleep until 3am. But during my ADD episode I think I figured out my amp rack without elevating the rack.

The module that’s in the way is the remote start module. And it’s held down by four bolts. If I move the module I open up another 6” of amp rack possibility. Meaning I can place my distribution blocks there. It also means that the original amp rack can expand by another inch or two.

A rough drawing

Well here’s what I came up with

I’ll post more pics tomorrow when I wire up the amp rack. Then I just gotta run power wire and 9 wire speed wire. The speed wire will run to my loop back harness from AIS.

I would try and find another place for those amps and try and build the biggest enclosure i could stuff in there.
The only other location is behind the rear seats. There is more airflow below the seat than behind it.
The Kicker CWRT8D4 is rated from .2 to 1.0 cu.ft sealed. This enclosure is .22 internal. I am going for SQ. The factory system sucked a$$. Just upgrading the speakers like I have was a 100% improvement. So once I get the amps installed and the little 8 I should get the desired sound I am looking for.

So it works with non-amplified OEM systems? If yes, would a different harness be required for the amplified version?
The 2023 Non Bose Colorado is unamplified. So this should work.

Kicker wants me to have my 200.4 bench tested. So I am going to drop it off this week at my local Kicker authorized dealer for them to bench test it. Kicker thinks I may have a bad amplifier that needs to be refurbished.

Good to know Kicker is very supportive in customer service. Fingers crossed that the amp is the issue.

Kicker has been around for so many years. Ive never had an issue with theyre products all these years. all my ZR amps still work excellent. The older KS25 1" tweeters have been solid for me as well, and my KQ9 Eqs. My first large system was 4 ten inch old Gold series Stillwaters, and were some chest bangers. kicker still make pretty decent audio gear. They will get it fixed if need be, or send a new one out Im sure.
