This is an under seat box for a F-150, but I don't understand how they are coming up with 3.3 internal? You can't even get 3.3 using half inch wood. I'm not able to get 3.3 sealed without port? Maybe the calculator I'm using is off but I highly doubt it? If someone can verify the 3.3 please explain how you came up with it?

Well there's a guy on YouTube that custom makes a similar box and he uses wood, but he was also talking about his box for 6 6.5" was over 3 cubes ported? He would never explain his math either. I guess most people just trust whatever size they tell them?

Those outside dimensions are only roughly 2.97 cubes. Using ½" material drops it all the way down to 2.31 cubes net before subs and port displacement.

Yep, that is similar to the number I came up with. I think the max is about 2.4 cubes ported without a seat lift. I've seen some boxes sticking out 2-3 inches from under the seat, but it looks ugly like that.

Plus DS18 is known as a garbage company. Better off making one yourself if you can or contacting a box builder or at the very least get a designer like Buck to come up with something and take his build sheet to said box builder so it is done right the first time before wasting money on something like that. Plus that tuning is probably off as well they say 38hz so figure around 42hz and that is just too high even for metal music.

I have already started. I got the wood yesterday and will start the build tomorrow which is technically today.

Go to a professional.
I'm professional as it gets. I will show you the box when I'm finished. I'm no joke at building boxes. I'm kinda new to the under seat thing, but there isn't any special skill set required. I started this post because when I researched F150 boxes, just from eyeballing it I could tell that the cubic feet was wrong. Some guy even told me his front height was 10 inches for 3 8s, and he said "with no seat lift required". You only have 8.25 max, maybe 8.5 in the front with no seat lift. I was just wondering how these guys were coming up with all these inflated numbers? Bobby, I just made a box for 2 15s for a Suburban. Pics below with 3rd row in, and you let me know if I still need a professional? He didn't like the black box on the right because it wasn't hitting any lows, and it was installed improperly by a professional. They didn't even use the speaker terminals on the box, instead they drilled 2 big holes in the box under each terminal cup and ran the speaker wire like that. The box was leaking air in about 5 different places.

Haha quick edit, I'm a grouch atm lol, misread that.

With wood, I've only been able to get 3 cubes net when people do a seat lift. I've done many under-seat boxes, and I've never seen one reach 3 cubes without a seat lift.

I would like to know the dimensions on the first box because it looks too tall in the front for an f150? It looks to be angled a little for a better fit, but I think it will still raise the seat up.

Those pics are of the same box. You should be able to fit an 8" sub in a 9" - 9-¼" tall box. The cut-out for my VFL8" is just under 7-½".

Ok, I see the bottom part wasn't cut yet for the hump. I started the box using some cheap plywood that needs attention. I'm just test fitting right now. It will be dual chamber with a port on each side. I'm no stranger to box building and can't see paying someone to do it for me. This box is for 4 6.5s. It is 8.25 in the front and 55" width.
