Should We Defund The Police

Police protect their own. At all costs. Very few will stand up to another because they'll get berated, demoted, and have to put up with all sorts of other consequences. You know what should really be defunded? Police unions. You know what should be changed? Qualified immunity.

Are you a sworn officer or private security?
Private security, and I agree with what you just said dude.

What the **** is the world coming too? Now they have signed arrest warrants for the two officers in Atlanta. The defense attorney or one of them rather, is saying Rayshard Brooks was never a threat to the officers!?!?!?! Listen up criminals!!! IT IS NOW OK TO RESIST ARREST AFTER YOU BREAK THE LAW, ASSAULT THE ARRESTING OFFICERS, STEAL THEIR WEAPONS, POINT IT AT THE PURSUING OFFICERS AND DISCHARGE THAT WEAPON. The fact that you have broken several laws doesn't matter. You are from this day forward allowed to do any criminal act you want with no repercussions. God damn cowardly politicians.

Do you realize how incredibly hypocritical it is to say that stealing a non-lethal weapon warrants lethal force? Police use "non-lethal" weapons like they're playing laser tag into groups of protestors. That may be the worst argument you could have went with to defend the police. You're basically saying that when the police tear gas and taser you it's appropriate to upgrade to lethal force and shoot them? Or just when you're a cop during an arrest? This is the hypocrisy people are protesting.

You don't decide what is a lethal vs non-lethal weapon. It allows bias to rule.

I fire a taser at you, you're disoriented and unable to recover. I run towards you. I gouge your eyes out. I break your neck, killing you instantly.

If someone who previously fought me pointed a taser at me, I'd shoot them.

I don't, the police are allowed to use tasers and tear gas without even requiring escalation, making it hypocritical that they consider it worthy of lethal force when they themselves don't consider it to be, both by law and by the fact that they shoot teargas into crowds like they're giving away T-shirts.

It's not me saying that they can't be used in a lethal way, people have died from rubber bullets and water canons as well, even tear gas and tasers. The point is they want it both ways whenever it's convenient for them to justify murdering someone or to justify using excessive but "non-lethal" force on peaceful protestors.

Did you not watch the video?

So, this guy fights and assaults the police when he's drunk and the cops are supposed to back off and let him run away with a taser? Then, he walks home drunk and gets hit by a car. Then, his family sues the police for not arresting him. I didn't see him get patted down before he resisted arrest. He could've been pulling a gun. This is why Atlanta cops will be resigning.
