I am curious about a few things. Who are the "bad cops"? How do we know they are "bad"? How do we know when they are going to do something bad? If we have NO WAY of knowing who the bad cops are or when they are going to do something bad, how do we do anything fundamental or widespread to them? Is it by way of a crystal ball or tarot cards perhaps that reveal bad cops to us? Ahhhh it's by skin color? No that can't be it... that would make people racist.
Bad cops are those who lie and obfiscate for their buddies or do things such as plant evidence, or beat up/kill people during an arrest simply because they want to or are on an adrenaline high. There's a surprising amount of evidence that makes it to court and it's very common that cops get caught lying about the circumstances. It's called perjury, but for some reason they never get blamed for that other than annoying the judge.
We don't need to know they're going to do something bad, this isn't minority report. You're basically saying if we don't know who's bad, how do we prevent crime? Same way you prevent crime when cops do it, hold the criminals accountable, in this case hold cops who commit crimes and break policy liable in the same way civilians are. Also, don't require established case law for common sense decisions that rob people of their liberties, the onus should be on the cop who did the taking to prove it was reasonable according to policy, not the victim or the DA to prove it was unreasonable when it goes against department procedures.
You don't really need to make it about race any more, which should come as great relief to you by how defensive you get about it. The things BLM wants are mutually beneficial for everybody except criminal cops. White people are murdered by police too, just not as much as black people by individual odds.
So, it is safe to say that any rational thinking person with an IQ over 90 knows we can't determine ahead of time if someone is going to do something bad to anyone. So REMOVING funds from law enforcement is not going to fix anything. Yes, it will remove bad cops but it will remove more good cops than anything else because good cops are in far greater numbers than bad cops. You want something widespread and effective???... how about stricter punishments or harsher punishments for criminals and longer sentences. Make it illegal to baby criminals or give them slaps on the wrist. No probation, only jail time. How about we make punishments for crimes actual punishments. Make criminals think twice about committing crimes.
Well once again the left struggles to brand properly. Defund the police does mean cut their budgets, but it also primarily means alleviate their responsibilities and take away their millitary toys. It doesn't mean start firing officers, but obviously if there's accountability from here on out there will be a lot of cops losing their jobs and getting prosecuted. Essentially police have become the single tool to be used to do everything in poor communities and that should be reversed. You don't need armed officers to respond to every 911, many can be handled by people trained in deescalation instead or those trained in mental health crisis handling. I suppose as a cop ball sucker you'd agree that they're expected to do too much, so good, let them offset some duties to another entity and some money should go with those responsibilities being taken away.
Wonder why the American criminal justice system is a dismal failure?

Widespread and effective huh? How about you tell me what your sentence and crime was since your experiences with the police supposedly is where you draw your criticism of the BLM movement from. Maybe it wasn't such good evidence for your point after all.
