Should We Defund The Police

You are some kind of special. You have to understand what qualified immunity is first before we can answer this. As someone who understands it, absolutely. It has to go away or the rest of the changes dont mean shit. There also has to be more reform than just removing qualified immunity. They have to require cops to carry "malpractice" insurance, the same way doctors, healthcare officials, psychologists, etc. have to carry it. If they have complaints, it needs to go in a national database.

Then, Cops will need to be paid more.

They already have to wear body cams and they turn them off and "forget" to turn them on until after they have committed a crime. Its been well documented at this point.

The Cops need to be punished if they "forget" to turn them on, or fired.

He didnt say I have qualified immunity. The fact is, not only was he being told by the detainee that he couldnt breath. He was also being told by the Asian cop with him that was training under Chauvin for 4 days that Chauvin wasnt doing it properly and asked him twice to get off George.

The Asian Cop should've forcibly removed Chauvins knee. It was his moral duty.

Yes. There were 4 races of cops involved.

I'm guessing that the protests wouldn't be as big as they are if it were the black Cop. But, that's just my opinion.

And, yes, I am some kind of special. Thanks for noticing. You have to expand to read all of my responses to your beefs, sorry.

You are entitled to your opinion even if its wrong. As I mentioned and the facts show, there were 4 different race cops on the scene and involved in his death.

Which means nothing. You obviously have no clue what the definition of opinion is. Two of the cops were on their third and fourth shift respectively with zero history of complaints. Now, because of some dickhead white cop, they will be sent to jail. Btw, there was only three different races of cops involved. Just sayin! Two of them extremely inexperienced.

I have a clue what the definition of opinion is. However, if scientific facts prove your opinion incorrect, it is possible to have an opinion that is wrong. For example, if you believed the Earth was flat, but we had video and picture evidence as well as satellite imagery that proved it was false, your opinion is wrong.

That being said, atleast one of the new cops, asked Chauvin twice if he was sure he was using the proper technique to detain and asked if he should be turned on his side. Chauvin said no its fine and then later was told by bystanders the guy couldnt breathe and ignored them. That being said, even the newbie knew it was incorrect and didnt do anything about it. Even if he was on the job 4 days, he is still negligent.

Your statement does prove that police reform needs to happen. Chauvin had something like 71 complaints filed against him and he was training 2 new cops? If you or 1 had more than 1 or 2 complaints from clients we would be fired. Police need to be held accountable and that starts with getting rid of qualified immunity and then dick head cops like Chauvin need to end up on a national registry for every complaint they receive as well as pay their own malpractice insurance.

The proper way to handle the insurance would be a group buy in. Everyone at a branch could buy in and get discounts, however, 1 complaint against a cop on that group policy gets reported, everyones premiums go up in tandem, not just the person reported. The good cops would start holding the bad cops accountable and push them out. If for nothing other than protecting their own premiums and wallet. Until these reforms happen, no cops are good cops.

I've heard your insurance idea as well. Sounds like a great idea, because something needs to incentivize getting rid of bad cops more than just morality. It's clear that doesn't work as well as self-interest and trying to keep your head down around group-thinkers. Money's a good motivator to do the right thing, at least it worked for alternative energy!

Really? I think your opinion is wrong in that last sentence. Also, I don't think a cop on his 3rd or 4th shift, who is training, should go to jail for 50 years because of a 20 year officers negligience. I believe that law enforcement policy is to sit a person up after they have been detained. I'm pretty sure that's the policy here in Vegas.

Dumb cop(s) kills man and it is captured with video. People get mad, rightfully so. People begin to protest and right away trouble makers make trouble along side of protestors defeating the purpose of the protest. Word goes out among trouble makers that it is time to cause more trouble and loot stuff too. Shit gets out of hand. The race card is used a lot. Democrats point fingers at... guess who. Protestors continue to protest. Left wing puppets begin brain washing. "Defund the Police". Democrat puppet masters see an opportunity to pander future black votes and voice that they too think we should defund the police. Some police defunding happens almost instantly.

When the police pulled back, how much looting happened? How many people got beat or shot by these trouble makers? So the answer is to defund the police? This will take police off the street. What happens when there are less or no police around? Apparently there are people out there who think nothing bad will happen... that somehow these criminals will suddenly be reformed and will no longer commit crimes simply because there are less police. Criminals commit crimes of opportunity. No police, the opportunity will present itself and being that criminals have no self control... It will be a free for all.

Do I think we should defund the police? No. If anything we need more funding for better training. Oh, and a gag for Pelosi.

Like I said, your entitled to your opinion even if its wrong. The fact is, the supposed good cops are letting the bad cops be bad cops. They arent standing up for whats right, even though thats their job. They arent stopping them in the act. They are keeping their mouths shut and backing their fellow officers. Until the good cops stand up and do their jobs properly and stand for whats right, all cops are bad cops.

Any questions? It's a bad cop thing, not a race thing.

Also not true. Systemic racism still exists if you remove race from the headlines. This image is equivalent of saying that you disagree with the BlackLivesMatter movement because AllLivesMatter. In reality, yes all lives do matter. However, we need to call attention to the people receiving the worst treatment until everyone is equal. The best analogy I have heard is lets say your house is on fire. The fire department shows up and starts spraying your house. Mid stream, they decide all houses matter even though yours is the only one on fire. They ignore the fire and start spraying the neighbors houses while your world burns down. Saying BlackLivesMatter doesnt take away from any other race, it calls attention to a group of people that need the help the most.
