Nope. It's not about competing it's more about having the right amount of air space and port area for the sub and power that's being used plus tuned to The type of music being listened too and a tuning that'll work good for The sub and air space of The enclosure.
The majority of pre fab boxes don't have near enough port area for the power op plans to use. Or enough bracing for that matter.
Won't get into a tuning debate but will say in my experience the enclosure and type of music, goals, the sub it's self and vehicle play a larger roll then someone putting a blanket statement that 30 34 38 etc Hz sounds the best.
Personally I wouldn't waste my money on a q bomb box..
I can't envision the backseat area, and what configuration will work best. Since the "trunk" is filled with an engine maybe if there's clearance a side fire port/sub up?.. give that port something to load against?
I'm spitballing here btw... lol. Without pics of the area I'm in the dark really.
I think electrical will be the real hurdle with all the power being used, if those gains aren't set right also... well... as far as the enclosure goes is the sub you have the HD-15d2a Op?
Prefab?.. power limited, less extension (tuning) and a HD-15 on an Orion Xtr2500.1 will probably blow a Rockville box apart eventually if the user don't clip the sub to death 1st trying to get loud.
I see the decision has been made... let us know how it works out Op.
I would.I wouldn't call it a waste. And I'd buy the qbomb
I would...and wouldn't buy one for a lower wattage set up let alone for what op is going to be using. To each their own.I wouldn't call it a waste. And I'd buy the qbomb
Rockville box? What's its cea rated for lol?
Btw what ever happened with that first box build? I'm still waiting to see step 2? Did it end up as camp fire wood or what?I wouldn't call it a waste. And I'd buy the qbomb
Yeah I want to see how he plans on powering the thing properly lol

I'm curious too... whatever happened? @danielbea122
I'll stick with the AB spec box. I'll get it made out of 1" MDF. The tuning is at 40hz., but that is what is recommended. As far as powering everything, I'll just have to do what I can. Do some research. I'm just a boy with a dream. "If it was easy, everybody would do it."
lol i have the same set up and the same gain setting although my electrical aint really up to par...:/
I stopped trying. Tried 3 boxes until I found one I liked.
I can go to pirate customs have a box built that is the same size as the one I have but why? Literally can't fit a bigger box in my car unless I have it built in my car.
This guy has a VW bug think about it. That is going to bang so hard it won't matter what box it's in.
And it's going in the front because the motor is in the rear. All kinds of crazy lol
2,180 cc. with a hideaway turbo. 7.5 boost!I removed the back seat. The sub will be in the car. I have plenty of room for a box up to 34" wide and 16" tall and 36" d. Room isn't a problem. It sounds like I better keep the pop-out windows to let air out of the cab. View attachment 18412
Idk why people can't build a box... I'll give you an "A" for effort... but the execution can't be graded as the thing never got finished.I stopped trying. Tried 3 boxes until I found one I liked.

People who are happy with a Qbomb remind me of those Foxbox aficionados... married to their purchase and eager to recommend one to someone else till they hear a proper enclosure (same subs/power)... hey... there is a market for entry level stuff sure... but I recommend what I believe to work well. I'm always learning and a noob apparently. Maybe Qbomb has killer stuff nowadays... idk
