I'm making a 40 Hz tuned box for my TC-1000 just to mess around with and see what a SPL box sounds like.

Maybe I won't post pics like the Apline guy //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Some of the tools laid out. Check out that beasty angle clamp. I highly recommend them. I got it from Lowes for around $25 IIRC. The carpenter's square is also very useful.

I use the plastic bag there so that no glue gets on the bottom piece of wood.

It's 3.2 cu ft tuned to 40 Hz with 37.5 inches of port area. It should match my car's peak perfectly.

im curious...why would you want to paint an spl box a high gloss black. SPL isnt about looking good:p:
regardless..box looks goood
A box can be good looking no matter what it's for.

Sorry for the lack of updates guys. My computer is down and I need to reinstall Windows.

It's almost done though. I rounded all of the corners and just need to cut the hole for the sub and paint at least one side. This whole box is just to practice technique so I'm not going to paint the whole thing.

I'll try to get some pics up later.

BTW the total screw count = 0.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/threadlocked.gif.19972dacc919d20277442a45eb2e99e6.gif

i try not to ever use screws either, besides the fact that i always crack the mdf (even with pre drilling //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif)

Bigger drill bit is needed probably and countersinking.

where does everyone get those clamps? I wanna build my own box soon but I dont know where they get them. And price?
Any hardware store will have them. IIRC they are around $15-30 for the cheap ones depending on the length.

looks good. so you didnt use any screws. how about brad nails?
Nothing except glue and clamps.

Here is my progress so far. You can see the router accident on the port. That is filled with wood filler.

Where do I go for high quality primer/paint/clear, and also high grit wet sanding stuff?
